When Warner Bros. took over Hall H at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, fans were treated with new logos for the DC Extended Universe's upcoming slate of films, albeit without any release dates attached. Of course, fans quickly noticed that several previously announced films were missing from the slate, one of them being Chris McKay's Nightwing, and according to Mckay, there's a reason why the film wasn't mentioned.
Replying to a fan question on Twitter regarding the Nightwing film, McKay revealed why the film was not part of the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation. "I've turned down films because they were backed into a release date that made it difficult to make a great film," said The Lego Batman Movie director. "This isn't going to be like that. I want this movie to blow you away. We need time to get it right."
It looks like the Nightwing solo film is still going strong, and in the right hands with Chris McKay at the helm. We'll just have to be patient and see what McKay has in store for Batman's first protégé when he makes his live-action film debut.
