Teresa Palmer Wants To Play Talia Al Ghul In THE BATMAN, But The Character Isn't On The DCEU's Radar
Palmer almost played Talia in George Miller's now defunct Justice League movie, and is campaigning to get another crack at the character in Ben Affleck's The Batman - but it doesn't seem very likely.
Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek, Triple 9, Hacksaw Ridge) was originally in line to play Batman villain Talia al Ghul in Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller's Justice League: Mortal before the project was scrapped, and it seems the Aussie actress still has designs on the role.
During an interview with Screen Rant, Palmer informed the site that she's officially campaigning to play Talia in Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie, and asked them to get the word out. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but there might be a slight problem there.
According to The Wrap, Warner Brothers has no plans to include the character - nor her father Ra's - in The Batman, or in any other DCEU movie for the foreseeable future. This could have something to do with how prominently they factored into the overarching plot of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and also because of the mostly negative reaction to Talia (Marion Cotillard) in The Dark Knight Rises. Whatever the reason, plans are always subject to change, so perhaps Palmer's interest won't go unnoticed.
