During one of his recent YouTube videos, John Campea indicated that there's some bad DC news on the way. Fans quickly scrambled to try and figure out what that might be and the most logical conclusion was that writer and director Matt Reeves might walk away from The Batman. Hours later, The Wrap ran a story saying that wasn't the case, a pretty bizarre move considering the fact Campea never actually said that's what he was referring to (meaning the site made up a rumour in order to debunk it).
Well, that "rumour" has now been shrugged off by a far more reliable source in the form of Reeves himself. As you can see below, the filmmaker took to Twitter to respond to a fan and make it clear that he's fully committed to the DC Comics adaptation. It's been reported that Reeves is still working on the screenplay, so who knows how long it will be until he actually decides to step behind the camera!
Either way, it's definitely good to know that Reeves hasn't decided to leave the project, especially after we put up with Ben Affleck's seemingly endless promises that he was working on the movie only for him to then call it quits almost out of the blue. What form The Batman will take still remains to be seen but it's probably going to be with us in the next few years. Maybe we'll get some news at Comic-Con?
