THE BATMAN Official LEGO Sets Reveal A Slightly Different Look For The Riddler

LEGO has officially unveiled four sets depicting scenarios from Matt Reeves' The Batman, and the "Riddler Face-Off" set may hint at a slightly different costume for The Dark Knight's iconic villain.

The new trailer for Matt Reeves' The Batman is set to debut during DC FanDome next week, but in the meantime, we have a first official look at some of the tie-in LEGO sets that should be hitting stores this November.

Most of the sets depict scenarios we were already familiar with from the various set photos that have leaked online (the Catwoman bike-chase, etc), but the "Batcave: The Riddler Face-Off" set is interesting for a couple of reasons.

For one, The Riddler minifig appears be wearing a slightly different costume to the one Paul Dano was sporting in that first trailer. The mask is very similar, but the top of his head is uncovered here, giving the classic Bat-baddie a more comic-accurate appearance. Of course, this may not represent the character's live-action look.

Secondly, the set includes a minifig known only as "The Drifter." The design is fairly nondescript, but there's already speculation that this could be an incarnation of Dick Grayson. Whoever it is, this is the first we've heard of the character's inclusion.

Update: on closer inspection, the Drifter is actually Bruce Wayne!

Check out the sets below. We've also included links for anyone who'd like to place pre-orders.

Batmobile: The Penguin Chase - Price $29.99

Riddler with the hair out looks odd. But then again, Lego isn't always accurate

Definitely PG-13 if LEGO is making sets for it. Not that I ever doubted it.

@MasterMix - How has Batman never been R-rated? It's full on film noir, pulp fiction. The gritty, gothic, horror-laden city, dripping in sex and violence, haunted by a dark vigilante and terrorized by psychologically insane murderers!

How have we never done an R-rated Batman?! Ever?! Even Bale was suggesting it back when they did Batman Begins. He was like "I know it's commercial and R-rated movies don't do well, but can't we do a really low-budget, gritty movie shot on 16mm?" (or words to that effect).
