It took a bit longer than expected, but Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is continuing to march its way towards being one of the top ten comic book movies ever made.

The film is currently sits in eleventh place, and has made over $851 million worldwide, with $319.5 million of that in North America. This puts it ahead of Iron Man, Marvel's first entry into their Marvel Cinematic Universe, which made $318.4 million domestically.  To make it into the top ten, it will have to achieve at least $336 million (which would be enough to march past Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, which it already has done at the international box office).

In comparison to other Marvel films, BVS also surpassed Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier with ease. The film is also the highest-grossing Superman film of all time, though it is not expected to surpass The Dark Knight Rises' overall domestic haul of $449 million. Barring unexpected circumstances, the film will likely be third-highest-grossing DC Comics adaptation at both the domestic and worldwide box office, behind The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises

Is it going to be too much to ask for people to be nice in this thread?

It is, isn't it?

This proves once and for all that DC screwed up royally by ditching the Nolan universe. It is not going to get any better for them either. EPIC FAIL exactly as I predicted would happen three years ago.

I'm tired of seeing articles about how much or how little BvS is making...

It won't make it much higher than where it is now, with Civil War opening internationally this week and in the US next week. The most important thing was getting past the $850 it reportedly needed to turn a profit. The movie may be a critical failure, but it's not a financial one. I'm sure WB is disappointed, but it's not an "end of days" type of thing.

I wonder what they're expecting out of Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman? I would think about $600 million maybe?

@Pigdango - I would hope SS does more than $600 mil

All of the movies it is 'beating" did not have the benefit of the expansive 3D and even 4D and IMAX increases nor the growing international market at that time. So the fact that it is barley getting by those movies is quite a sad statement.
