BATMAN v SUPERMAN Star Reveals Why Ben Affleck Has An Advantage Over Christian Bale

Man of Steel star Harry Lennix has weighed in on how he feels about Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) being cast as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and reveals why he thinks the American actor has an advantage over the British Christian Bale...

Batman-News have come across a recent interview with Harry Lennix on the Vintage Sound 93.1 FM radio show from earlier today in which the Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star shares his thoughts on what gives Ben Affleck the advantage over the actor who played the Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy, Christian Bale.

"I think he’s going to be perfect," the actor told the radio host when asked for his thoughts on the Gone Girl star taking on the role of Batman. "I’m especially excited that we’ve got an American actor here, that’s increasingly rare. The last guy, who did a great job, Christian Bale — is British. I think that when you’ve got somebody that doesn’t have to act like an American and embodies that ethos, if you will, then that gives him a head start. And knowing how intelligent and how artful that he is as a filmmaker and actor, I think he’s going to do a terrific job." This is an interesting take on why Affleck could have an advantage over his predecessor, but the very British Henry Cavill doesn't seem to have too much trouble embodying the ethos of perhaps the most American superhero of them all, Superman. What do you think of these comments? Sound off below!

It really doesn't matter where the actor comes from.
For example Cavill is British. So is Chris H. as Thor. They're all great actors, doing great job with their characters.

lame, no need to compliment Affleck by taking a weird little shot at Bale.......Bale delivered stellar work and I'm sure Affleck is a talented enough actor to do the same in a new / fresh way

Affleck's Batman will crush Bale's Batman. Its not just about acting ability. Its more so about who Batman truly is and what are the extent of his abilities. In the Nolanverse, Batman was far from a genius and did not have an assortment of gadgets to pick from. Nolan's Batman was getting his clock cleaned when fighting Bane until he finally realized that punching Bane's mask and not his body armor was an effective way of harming him. Nolans Batman wouldn't have stood a chance against Superman so it was a blessing that the character was saved by Affleck and Snyder.

I'm glad we have an American as well. Films are the last great American export and we are slowly losing that.

We can't know who will do a better job as Batman. But if you look at the whole picture you can see Bale is a much better actor than Affleck.

Wow, Henry Lennix is a dumb ass. Just because an actor is american and they are playing an american character doesn't mean they will automatically be better then if a British man did. Andrew Garfield and Henry Cavill both play their parts great> I do believe Affleck will be better then bale. But just cause i personally think Afflecks the better actor (Gone Girl really proved that to me.)

.......

What a dumbass xenophobic statement. Henry Cavil is British and he portrayed 'American Ethos' just fine. So what?.... only Americans can portray American ideals and ethos?...

What a twat.

Screw Bale...he overacted as Batman and screw and the millions of minions who who get wet at the Nolan trilogy. Dark Knight was bad ass and that's it. Wasn't a huge fan of the Dark Knight rises. Too many holes. Waynes gets out of the pit/prison and -Poof- magically he made it back to heavily armed Gotham to square off against Bane.

My only concern is that whether the ACTING passes the test of appearing genuinely American, not racking u some kind of imaginery bonus-points if the actor/actress IS American.

Seriously, this guy has just fell down a whole lot of IQ points in my estimation if he genuinely thinks it makes any difference whatsoever.
