More From Jesse Eisenberg On BATMAN v SUPERMAN; Jai Courtney Teases 'The Joker'
In yet another video interview with Jesse Eisenberg, the actor talks about his take on Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman and why his version will not be a "silly, villainous character." Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney meanwhile reveals more about Jared Leto's take on The Joker...
Talking to MTV News, Jesse Eisenberg went in-depth about his take on Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, dismissing any possible comparisons to previous takes on the villain - Gene Hackman in Superman: The Movie for example - in the process. "It’s a really great character that’s written by this guy, Chris Terrio, he’s a phenomenal writer. He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into it. It’s a great character, there’s an emotional core to the character. It’s not this silly, villainous character." Eisenberg added: "This is a real depiction of a person who thinks these things. So the challenge is to make it seem real."
Jai Courtney meanwhile tells a pretty interesting story about how he ended up being cast as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad, but his comments about The Joker are particularly intriguing. "I don’t think any of us are naïve to the pressure he’s under," the Terminator Genisys star told the site. "It’s not something I’ve talked about with him, but I’ve seen him working and it’s cool, man." Now, we've seen a green haired Leto hanging around Toronto with friends, so he's not locking himself in a hotel room and getting in The Joker's head like Heath Ledger did, but is the Oscar winner going method on set? "Sort of. I don’t know how you measure that these days. I haven’t seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let’s put it that way." What do you think?
