More From Jesse Eisenberg On BATMAN v SUPERMAN; Jai Courtney Teases 'The Joker'

In yet another video interview with Jesse Eisenberg, the actor talks about his take on Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman and why his version will not be a "silly, villainous character." Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney meanwhile reveals more about Jared Leto's take on The Joker...

Talking to MTV News, Jesse Eisenberg went in-depth about his take on Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, dismissing any possible comparisons to previous takes on the villain - Gene Hackman in Superman: The Movie for example - in the process. "It’s a really great character that’s written by this guy, Chris Terrio, he’s a phenomenal writer. He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into it. It’s a great character, there’s an emotional core to the character. It’s not this silly, villainous character." Eisenberg added: "This is a real depiction of a person who thinks these things. So the challenge is to make it seem real."

Jai Courtney meanwhile tells a pretty interesting story about how he ended up being cast as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad, but his comments about The Joker are particularly intriguing. "I don’t think any of us are naïve to the pressure he’s under," the Terminator Genisys star told the site. "It’s not something I’ve talked about with him, but I’ve seen him working and it’s cool, man." Now, we've seen a green haired Leto hanging around Toronto with friends, so he's not locking himself in a hotel room and getting in The Joker's head like Heath Ledger did, but is the Oscar winner going method on set? "Sort of. I don’t know how you measure that these days. I haven’t seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let’s put it that way." What do you think?

Captain Boomerang will be the character everyone loves to hate. He better live just because of how much people would hate to see him live.

I just really want this dialogue from Lex Luthor: Man of Steel to be in the movie!

Jai Courtney looks like he's having his breakthrough performance in SS. Some of the actors need to go a little crazy or change their appearance a bit just so we know they got the acting chops.
Like Mcconaughey in "Reign of Fire" (he was good in it, wasn't he ? I think so) or Worthington in "Sabotage".

I liked Courtney in Jack Reacher

I hope Ayer uses John Ostrander's run on SS as an influence for Captain Boomerang. Just make him a total bastard.

I want to see every dc villain be better than the last, just building up. Shannons Zod is something to beat. Jesse can do it. Leto can do it. The Rock may be able to do it(great action star, but I don't want a marvel villain where there's barely emotional weight, black Adam is an awesome villain, with a lot of emotional baggage

Michael C. HALL was always my pick for Lex. He's a great actor. He could've given Lex a psychotic edge. I've always liked an older Lex. Like in the Superman Animated series.

Still not a fan of Eisenberg casting. I don't want a social network repeat performace. Maybe he'll be good

@DrKinsolving

it's actually good thing if Jesse or Jared elavate their character a bit so then the fans could say: that villain is awesome. Marvel would need to keep up. They got great villains gallery but besides maybe Loki and Ultron (to some point, he's to chaotic character for my taste) and Tim Roth before changing into Abomination they never seem to get it right.

@TheAmbassador I loved Rosenbaum as Luthor! He had the physicality and the psychology down pat. But I really want to see it finally cinematically explored! And with Terrio writing and Snyder's visual style? I think I just had a minor brain aneurysm in a good way just thinking about it.

I'm just not an Eisenberg fan. Now You See Me is the only movie of his that in which I was able to tolerate him. I have been waiting to see an all-around intimidating Lex Luthor and I can't see Eisenberg pulling that off...especially being he is so wimpy looking. Sure...he can pull of the intellectually intimidating, but I want more than that from Lex Luthor. I'm just picky and I admit it. I guess we shall see how he pulls it off.

@jerryblake

Marvel is different than DC though

Joker has nothing to do with Ultron or Loki, you know, totally different

Braniac is not Ultron, totally, different

Plus, the Cinematic Universes that the movies take part in are, Totally Different

@jerryblake

Yeah, I agree with Pym

They are totally different

The Joker wouldn't work in the MCU, they aren't the same

And, I like the variety, DC/WB can give us something different

And, I love what Marvel is doing with the MCU

Rosenbaum was the best thing about Smallville

The only good live action Luthor so far. Spacey could've been amazing but Singer fvcked that up

I was the most worried about Jai as Boomerang. But man does he look the most intimidating out of the bunch.
