According to the Detroit Free Press, preproduction on Batman vs Superman has begun in metropolitan Detroit, with Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac playing a key role in the development of the set and shooting locations.
DFP writes,
"The studio complex is serving as home to production offices for the Warner Bros./DC Entertainment project. When filming starts next year, all seven of the soundstages will be used. The still-untitled Superman-Batman movie is expected to occupy the complex through August.
The superhero epic’s economic impact is expected to extend across the region. It plans to shoot at the Pontiac studio as well as at locations throughout the state."
“This project will employ more Michigan residents than any other film project has ever employed in the state of Michigan, ” shared Anthony Wenson, COO of Michigan Motion Picture Studios
We have already seen images pop up on Comicbookmovie.com showing preproduction and filming on the kent farm house and other set locations used in Man of Steel. But this is the first confirmation we've had of Michigan preparing itself to become Gotham/Metropolis for the heavily anticipated sequel to Man of Steel. However considering Detroit and Pontiac's small downtown core it is still possible that filming of the scenes of Metropolis will resume in Vancouver or Toronto (as rumored) in January.
Amy Adams has confirmed that her scenes will begin filming in February 2014, and according to DFP filming inside the studio will continue till August 2014.
Considering the film has already filmed the football match scene (between Gotham City University and Metropolis State University) and the secret scenes on the Kent Farm in October, the film will be in production for a total of 11 months! Wow!
Whose excited for 2015?
