Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Rumored To Ditch Her SUICIDE SQUAD Tattoos In BIRDS OF PREY

We got a good look at Harley Quinn's tats in Suicide Squad, but if a new report is to be believed, her body art may very well be removed when Cathy Yan takes the helm of the upcoming Birds of Prey movie...

Harley Quinn will return to the DC Extended Universe in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) but it sounds like the anti-hero's split from The Joker will result in even more changes than most of us expected.

According to a new report, mockups are being passed around at Warner Bros. featuring a totally new look for Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn which
don't feature the tattoos she was sporting in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. The character's ink was met with a mixed response from fans so it would be no great surprise if Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan decides to scrap them.

After all, most of the tats branded Harley as The Joker's property and it's said that DC boss Walter Hamada has an open mind when it comes to continuity, telling filmmakers that they can take what they liked from older DCEU movies and scrap what they didn't like.

It's also been reported that there are no plans for Jared Leto's Joker to appear in Birds of Prey and with James Gunn at the helm of Suicide Squad 2, it's highly unlikely we'll get to see that version of the Clown Prince of Crime for some time now (Gunn has never had anything good to say about Leto, so them working together is doubtful).

You have my attention...

Now ditch that ridiculous title and put her in the classic comic-book costume. I mean, for God's sake, her name is a play on the word "harlequin".

Then maybe - just maybe - you're on to something there, WB.

@KingJoffrey - I kind of want an outfit like this, seeing as her actual jester thing might be too weird.

@Nebula - I would just take off her jester hat, put a biker like cool jacket over the rest of the costume and keep the face paint. Maybe give her a belt.

I wish they never got rid of the face paint, it made it her stand out.

@Nebula - That's actually not bad. It's much closer to the traditional costume than her current one is.

What were they even thinking? I know sex sells, but... geez.

@DepressedCipher - that’s a great idea.

I can totally see her rocking like a jester bodysuit with a suitable belt and a jacket over it with some cool boots.

As for the tattoos, I’d be fine with them keeping the heart on her cheek. Everything else should go.

@Nebula - that plus a black jacket would be perfect.

Why the jacket? Because it’s cold outside in Gotham, even for psychopaths.

@Philip - Yeah just like a harlequinn symbol on the cheek or something.

But what about the skwad tattoos the cast members of Suicide Squad got?

What is this films catch? I know its the first female team film but its not a very interesting team. Only Canary has powers and its gonna be a big strech to see her teaming up with known murderer Quinn. They should had added Poison Ivy or Katana to the team, this line up is boring. Stoked to see Ewan as Sionis tho

@Saga - Those breakdowns seem to say Black Canary was also a murderer so there’s that. Birds of a feather...

@Saga - I heard it has to do with the rescue of Cassandra Cain from her abusive (criminal) father, David Cain.

But that was months ago, before the *ridiculous* title was revealed, so idk what's changed since then.

Gotta love that DC continuity. But her look sucked so...

The continuity in this universe... I don't even know to call it a universe yet until this newer one is established starting with Aquaman. Even though these changes have already started in Wonder Woman.

At this point, if saying “[frick] the continuity” results in better shit, then so be it.

I’m all for ditching most elements from Suicide Squad while keeping the Robbie casting of Harley. I’d like to see them pull back from the trashy sexpot character design, but that look seems to be what they’ve done with the character in the comics, so I doubt it.

@Chewtoy - I miss the cute and loveable quinn that questioned her relationship with the joker.

@DepressedCipher - With you 100%. An original character - as opposed to 'skank' Harley.

@BillyBatson1000 - Damn right, who does not have "Property of the joker" written on her jacket.

@BillyBatson1000 - She already was slutty in animated series, you were too young and didnt get a lot of stuff.

@Omega - Sure there was that element - but that's kind of ALL I see now. Which makes her less original, less appealing, less effective.
