BLACK PANTHER Has Now Officially Passed The $1 Billion Mark At The Worldwide Box Office
The latest box office updates are in, and as expected, Marvel's Black Panther has now officially crossed the $1 billion point after a very impressive opening weekend in China. More past the jump...
Marvel and Ryan Coogler's critically-acclaimed Black Panther is still clawing through through its competition, and continues to collect records like Killmonger notching up kills.
Yesterday, we found out that T'Challa's first solo adventure stood at around $980 million at the global box office and should easily pass the $1 billion mark by the end of its fourth weekend on release. Now, the figures are in, and after amassing $48.2m over the course of its first two days screening in China, we can officially call Black Panther a member of the billion-dollar club.
This makes it only the 33rd movie in history to reach that milestone in unadjusted global grosses.
We found out yesterday that a sequel is already being discussed, so don't be surprised if this puts it right at the top of Marvel's priority list.
