So, likened to IronMan we want the comic adaptations of Luke Cage and Black Panther made into live action films.
UNLIKE Ironman, neither Luke nor T'Challa have as broad a list of rogues as Ironman, Batman or even flash.
Now this website is called Hive of Villainy, dedicated Foremost to handling the BAD GUY, because as much as we want to see a hero on screen, a GOOD villain is just as important. (See Superman returns for my point)
In Ironman, I enjoyed his character to no end, but what I enjoyed NEARLY as well was his foil: Iron Monger. Sure he fought him very breifly but his character had a base, and a good reason for being a villain other then just being there for "I'm the Bad guy" sake. (Like Black heart....cough)
I mean he monologued, and his monalogue's were good. Another example would be Blonsky in Hulk, he was a PERFECT foil for the Hulk, somebody who was in more control then Hulk was, yet CHOSE to go wild to prove he was the best. Hulk did not have as much control as that so it was a struggle to both: Beat a stronger foe, AND battle to control HIMSELF so he could save rather then Harm.
SO who will our foes face up against in these movies we're CLAMBORING to see on the silver screen?
TIME FOR "MY 2 CENTS!"
Black Panther, he's a dedicated son and prince in a Paradise known as Wakanda. He's perceived as an optimist SIMPLY because he believes in the nobility of others outside their hidden boarders.
He's a firm believer in honor, and in the protection of his people before himself.
The foe for him, "I think." Would be Klaw. "WELL THAT’S BECAUSE HE'S THE ONLY ONE YOU CAN THINK OF THAT'S FACED HIM."
Well yes, but here's another reason why. He's a deceiver, a good one. He bases allot of his stock on false trust, something T'Challa and his father hold sacred. And as for his face off, it doesn't have to be "SUPER DUDE, meets SUPER FREAK" right away. Remember that Batman didn't face Scarecrow OR (revealed to be) Rhas Al Ghul till the end. With the way that Batman begins went, we would've still been enthralled in his character if he kept taking down mob bosses higher up the chain. He didn't fight people who fell into vats of stuff or took serums, or even painted their faces (At least not in that movie) He impressed us taking down little fish, earning our trust to be cool enough to take down BIGGER fish later on. Same with Ironman, and how he first fended off those terrorists, and tanks, THEN took on Iron Monger.
Here's the Panther setting, T'Challa's father tells him how he and his father before him protected Wakanda and its jewel mineral rock: Vibrainium. T'Challa's grandfather defended Wakanda from the Nazi's in WWII, that heard of this miracle stone and wished to acquire it for themselves. (Perhaps show a cool flash back of the battle between Wakanda's armies led by the Black Panther against the Nazi tanks.)
And T'Challa's father T'Chaka has defended the people of Wakanda since he was 17, and how someday very soon HE will take up the mantel of the Black Panther too preserve the safety of the land.
One day in an outing with his father, he is killed by who T'Challa believes to be poachers at first, but- then questions why poacher's would wear uniforms?
Later comes Klaw
Klaw could be a weapon's trader, specifically in the field of chemical and sonic warfare. War fare that won't harm the jungles they live in, but will pack a punch to any tribe hiding within, and is offering his services to various hostile tribes. T'Challa suspects there's something more to his doings besides making money off of arms.
He decides to intervene as Black Panther because of the suspected involvement of Klaw's group in his father's death earlier. He defends other villages of from attacks used wit Klaw's weapons and rescue's children that are captured and press ganged into becoming 9 year old Guerrilla troops.
The reason Klaw has been trading with these tribes is for the Vibrainium oar underneath them. Under the guise of digging for gold or diamonds, he's been harvesting large amounts of Vibrainium oar, the alloy that makes up their protected city of Wakanda. Klaw's plan, is to have his own private militia and employers' (Which turns out to be AIM) and other tribes with their allegiance to attack Wakanda with their own Tech. This certainly dispels the whole:” Keep your nose out of trouble and no trouble will come to you." notion. The reason AIM (Or Hydra if it fits more with the story) had his father killed in the beginning was because they couldn't allow someone to stop their mining in other countries in Africa. If they took him on full force it would draw to much attention to the rest of the world of their existence. And T'Chaka had always cared too much for OTHER nations, and would have unearthed SOMETHING, so he had to go.
Panther has a face of between Klaw, and a Vibrainium Mecha like Metal Gear Solid.
At the end there could be a hint of him joining the avengers, like Nick Fury flying in to clean up the mess because evidence of Hydra means evidence of SHIELD.
Why the constant poking at Hydra being behind everything? Because I think that while they've already established SHEILDS' existence to back the Avengers, it only makes since that when they combat HYDRA or AIM, and they’ve already had a proper introduction.
I have a similar VILLAIN editorial on LUKE CAGE on my website, which is sort of a continuation of this.
*Takes breath* NOW! Your thoughts???
