Former FLASHPOINT Director Throws Shade At JUSTICE LEAGUE As BLACK PANTHER Crushes It At The Box Office

In a matter of days, Black Panther has already made more at the North American box office than Justice League did during its entire run. Now, former Flashpoint helmer Rick Famuyiwa has poked fun at that!

Over the course of 91 days, Justice League made a total of $228 million at the North American box office. Black Panther, meanwhile, has already doubled the DC Comics adaptation's opening and has surpassed the figure above after a little over four days. That's obviously an embarrassment to Warner Bros. but one person who appears to be enjoying that is former Flashpoint director Rick Famuyiwa.

He parted ways with the studio quite some time ago over "creative differences" and Flashpoint should have been released next month had that situation not played out the way it did. Clearly, the filmmaker isn't happy about that or he's just excited that such a diverse movie has done so well this weekend.

If you don't think he is throwing shade at Justice League here, though, pay attention to the emojis he's used because those are clearly a reference to the meme of Kermit the Frog driving tea (that's used in a lot of different ways so we'll leave it up to you to try and interpret its meaning here). Were you glad to see Black Panther find more success than Justice League? Weigh in with your thoughts down below.

@MosquitoFarmer - I'm not even sure why anyone is still talking about DC at this point. I have officially boycotted all their films after seeing justice league. I'm not wasting time or money anymore.

@RocknRolla - How have you officially boycotted their films after seeing Justice League? No more have come out yet.

@Doomsday8888 - DC should be ashamed that a C-list character TROUNCED their A-List characters in a movie! Totally unacceptable...

@krayzeman - C-List huh? Black Panther has never been C-List

@krayzeman - I've always known him to be an a-lister. unless youve been living under a rock for 30 years, you should too.

@tunasmelt - Everyone you know is not an A list comic character. compare name recognition of Black panther to Superman batman and spiderman. Compare their comic sales whenever BP has warranted an attempt at a run. He is C-list in pretty much every way one might measure the usage of the phrase. He's a great cheater. So is Shazam for DC. Shazam is also b or C level character.

@tunasmelt - Please. I've been a comic fan for a couple decades now and i've never known Black Panther to be on the level of a-listers like Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man or b-listers like Iron Man, Thor or to a degree Captain America. And you want to know how I know this? Why hasn't BP gotten any kind of run outside comics in other mediums up until now? He's been around since the 60's and this is the first time he's gotten a movie?? Even that animated series he had was garbage. Now don't get me wrong I love the character but comics fans know there has been little support for him since he was created. To be fair there was a time when you could call Iron Man, Thor and Cap B or C listers but now they are A because EVERYONE knows them.

@osideous - D-list? Was C-list too high to grade him? C'mon now...

The characters in 'Black Panther' are funnier than the DCEU Flash could ever hope to be, and they are barely even trying.

And to be frank I honestly thought those rumours about his Flash film were complete bullshit. Probably just because he was a black director.

@BlindWedjat - I wouldn't be surprised if you're right and it's some bullshit rumour made up by some racist troll to stir shit about a black director. Look at the rotten tomatoes debacle

@sickboy76 - True about the RT mess, but honestly it wouldn't need to be an alt-right or whatever. Just someone trying to start shit either way. Like I bet they said that just because he directed Dope, which had a political and social message about being black at the end of the film
