At first glance, I thought the mystery woman in the cave could have been Jocasta but it seemed way too soon for the Bride of Ultron to make her MCU debut. Thanks to the 4K HD resolution, we can zoom in on this shot and clearly see that the mystery woman is human and definitely wearing what appears to be African garb. Credit goes to ComicBook.com for first suggesting that this woman is probably a member of the Dora Milaje, the Black Panther’s personal, all-female security detail. Also, the brief shot of the mystery woman is in a cave, which is leading many to believe that this is a vibranium cave. The indestructible metal is the source and strength of the highly advanced city of Wakanda. Also, a brief shot of Thor also features a similarly garbed woman in the background.
Perhaps The Avengers stop in South Africa on their way to Wakanda? Or maybe a fight in Wakanda spills out into South Africa? This shot from the local law enforcement attempting to contain the Hulk vs Hulkbuster fight shows a South African restaurant franchise named Nyama & Chips.
The other subtle clue in the trailer comes in the shot of Andy Serkis’ mystery character. Since first revealed, fans have strongly theorized that Serkis is playing Black Panther villain Klaw. What is that around Serkis’ neck? A claw necklace. Subtle, Whedon!
Lastly, what’s the mystery city the Quinjet is seen flying through? It appears to be a random shot that doesn’t showcase anything extraordinary. Except maybe it does. Is this our first look at Wakanda?
