There's been speculation for years about Dwayne Johnson landing a major superhero role, and he'll finally be given the opportunity with this October's Black Adam.
Teth Adam is a character fans have been on board with the actor playing for a long time, and now it's actually happening, it's clear the former pro wrestler has grand ambitions for this corner of the DC Extended Universe. There has already been talks of spinoffs, and Johnson recently pondered the potential of a Marvel vs. DC crossover while speaking with Total Film.
"I am optimistic," he said or potentially bringing together the House of Ideas and its Distinguished Competition. "Just my nature is optimistic. And especially when it comes to creative. Especially when it comes to movies. And especially when it comes to the pantheon of DC superheroes and supervillains."
"Across the street, we have the pantheon of superheroes and supervillains of Marvel. To me, they can not only exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths one day."
We know Johnson has met with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and he's previously said "never say never" when it comes to a potential crossover. Unfortunately, a whole heap of legal and financial obstacles likely stand in the way of that ever happening, and right now, DC needs that boost way more than the MCU does.
It's a fun idea, anyway, and one that could become a reality somewhere down the line. Heck, perhaps Warner Bros. Discovery will eventually put the DC Universe up for sale, leaving Disney with the opportunity to take charge of all the world's superheroes?
That would be something to see, and we're sure Feige wouldn't be against making a Superman movie considering he started his career working alongside Richard Donner.
What would you guys like to see from a Marvel vs. DC movie?
