BLACK WIDOW Movie Character Breakdowns Tease Main Villain, Potential Allies And More
We have some character descriptions for Marvel's upcoming Black Widow movie, and while pretty vague for the most part, they do give us some idea of what to expect from Scarlett Johansson's supporting cast.
We know the solo Black Widow movie is expected to be a prequel which focuses on Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) early days as a budding assassin in Soviet Russia, but aside from that we still don't have a lot of solid info on the Cate Shortland-directed Marvel flick.
However, That Hashtag Show has now posted a batch of breakdowns which may give us some idea of what to expect from the movie's supporting characters.
Truth be told, these are even more vague than the usual descriptions THS shares and really don't call any specific Marvel Comics characters to mind - although the details we do have will still lead to a healthy dose of speculation, no doubt.

Main Villain
The main villain is male, and is simply described as "exciting." Apparently the studio is open to ethnicity, but looking for someone in their 40s.
Could this be Red Guardian? Mister X? Bengal? A new take on Crimson Dynamo, perhaps? There are lots of possibilities.
Friends Or Foes?
Next we have four potential allies of Nat's who could also turn out to be backstabbing double agents. This is a spy movie, after all!
The first two are said to be Widow's contemporaries: a “kick ass” female character described as a “female Bond," and a male with an emphasis on African, Middle Eastern or East Indian actors. We're thinking the female character could be Black Lotus, or possibly even the second Black Widow, Yelena Belova.
Additionally, the studio is seeking a European Caucasian female and European Caucasian male, both in the 50-60 year old range.
Secondary Villain
The secondary baddie is female, but we have even less to go on for her. All we know is that she'll be an older character (an actress in her 50s is being sought), who is described as a “conniving female villain.”
This sounds like it could be the woman that was responsible for training Natasha in The Red Room.
The Young American
Finally, we have another supporting character described as a “bookish American” in his late 20s. Yes, that's it!
This is just a wild guess, but we reckon this might end up being Widow's target in the movie, and possibly someone she decides to spare, leading to her becoming a target herself.
Like we said, all very vague, but hopefully we'll find out more in the coming months. In the meantime, be sure to share any theories of your own in the usual place.
