Anthony Mackie Explains The Unexpected Way He Found Out 'The Falcon' Is A Member Of THE AVENGERS

Talking to IGN about The Falcon being a member of The Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, actor Anthony Mackie revealed that he was just as surprised as everyone else when he was revealed to be a member of the New Avengers at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. "They never send you the whole script. Like when they asked me to do [Age of Ultron], they sent me two scenes. There are two hours and seven minutes around those two scenes, but I never got to read it. When we were at the premiere I was like “Cool.” I'm with my son and he gets to see his daddy in two scenes in The Avengers. By the end of the movie I turn around and they're like “Avengers Assemble!” I'm like, “Holy s**t! I’m an Avenger!!” So I turn around to everybody with me and they were like, “Dude! You're a f**kin' Avenger!” “This is f**kin' amazing.” So, that's the story of my Marvel life."

Asked if he really had no idea that he had been chosen to become an Avenger, Mackie added: "I had no idea. I flew in, Chris and Scarlett are up top and the rest of us are standing there. It was like “Cut. Anthony fly in. Action. Hm-hm-hm. Cut. Alright, thanks!” That was pretty much it. Six months later you go to a premiere and you s**t yourself. Everybody was like “Why are you so excited?” I'm like, “Arrhhhahhh... I just found out I'm an Avenger!” That's pretty much how it happened over and over. That's how Cap 2 happened, over and over and over again. So, I'm used to it. I'm interested to see what's going to happen with this movie." This likely means that Mackie has no idea how Captain America: Civil War ends, and considering the fact that there have been rumours Marvel have shot several different endings, that might be for the best. What do you guys think?

@JoeMomma29 - So, Mackie has yet to see CW or even read the script, but he goes around saying the movie will get a best film Academy Award nomination?

The ending of AOU was definetly one of my favorite parts of the film by bringing in a new team in a way that actually made sense. Crazy how Joss whedon wanted captain marvel and Spiderman in the original ending lineup I wonder how that would've been, still a shame that quicksilver didn't speed in to join the rest of the new avengers

@JoeMomma29 - I really hope so, he actually fit in with the team pretty well, if he shows up in civil war as Starks secret weapon i would probably jump with joy and id imagine the only one who'd be on caps team who could beat him is either scarlet witch or Spiderman with his spider sense which would be pretty cool to see
