CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR: Amazing Concept Art Shows Off Alternate Costume Designs For THE AVENGERS - Part 3

Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released next month and with so much of the movie shrouded in secrecy, fans continue speculating about what could be on the way when Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy assemble to battle Thanos.  We're obviously going to have to wait and see but one of the most intriguing aspects is how it will deal with Captain America: Civil War's fallout.

In that movie, The Avengers were split in two when Captain America and Iron Man fell on very different sides of the Sokovia Accords and the heroes all went their separate ways when all was said and done.

We're now taking a look at some concept art from Captain America: Civil War (which was basically Avengers 3 long before Infinity War) and this final awesome batch
puts the focus on alternate costume designs for Black Panther, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and The Vision. To check out the full list, all you need to do is click on the buttons below and then share your thoughts in the comments section.

Hawkeye

Marvel has always shied away from giving Hawkeye anything resembling his classic comic book costume and as masks go, the version of the right is certainly one way to hide Clint Barton's identity.

Clint, of course, isn't someone who needs to hide his face, hence why Marvel went with the version you see above. The use of purple here was definitely appreciated by fans of the source material.

The Vision

In Captain America: Civil War, Marvel had to find a way to give The Vision something to wear in a more casual setting and here we see a few different takes on some regular clothing for the android.

The Vision was, of course, introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but his look was refined for this movie and it's fair to say that Marvel came up with the perfect look for the fan-favourite hero.

Black Panther

When Marvel was trying to figure out the right look for T'Challa, they considered putting Vibranium shielding outside the costume, something which would have looked good but been a little impractical.

Marvel definitely made the right decision when it came to finding T'Challa's look but it's hard not to wonder what a version like this would have looked like had it made the leap to a live-action setting.

This beautiful shot of the King of Wakanda may not resemble what ended up on the big screen in Captain America: Civil War but it nicely sets the tone and those yellow eyes look very cool indeed.

Once again, this version of the suit appears to give T'Challa Vibranium plating over a fabric suit and it looks almost a little alien here as a result. It probably would have needed to be enhanced by CGI too.

The King of Wakanda stands tall here with and without his mask and it's clear that these pieces were created after Chadwick Boseman had been cast as T'Challa. What a great move by Marvel Studios!

This take on Black Panther makes good use of African imagery to come up with a suit which it's easy to imagine looking very cool on the big screen. It's very intricate and uses more gold than silver.

This design is clearly inspired by the source material but it also attempts to ground T'Challa's look in the real world, including giving him claws which almost look a little like the ones used by Wolverine.

These final designs for Black Panther show how he was brought to life in Captain America: Civil War and while the hero's look advanced again in his solo movie, this was a great starting point.

Ant-Man

The Ant-Man suit worn by Scott Lang in Ant-Man was obviously based on a 1960s design and it was down to Marvel's talented team of concept artists to come up with a modern, streamlined version.

That included changing the mask and as you can see from the artwork above, quite a lot of thought went into coming up with a version which referenced the past but also looked more up to date.

Can somebody tell me how the [frick] scanning images out of a book that anyone can buy and reposting them online is news? I'm assuming the clicks from this article will let Josh buy the next 'Art Of' book and scan that and repost. Rinse and repeat.

Love the new BP suit tbh. Looks better on Chadwick's frame than the first one. Plus, it's much sleeker and cooler. First can feel a bit overdesigned

I have to say, as interesting as the conceptual art for Black Panther is, he kinda looks a little too alien. Honestly, his outfit in Civil War is hands-down, my favorite MCU suit so far! His new one, while it does at first look a bit more comic-accurate, lacks the amazing detail in the first one. While some may say it's OVERdesigned, I disagree. It's a proud mantle, and especially after the first scene - it's now for a king as well. I love how it "interweaves" the classic African culture with modern combat-style and even futuristic elements. It's so amazing!
I also love Cap's blue suit at the beginning of TWS. It's ripped right from the comics and looks fantastic! Waay better than the one from Avengers 1. Unfortunately, that was one of my only beefs with that movie. I just felt like they didn't quite nail his look and feel. They were on the right track, but didn't quite land it yet. Now they have! His current (well, before he ripped his US/SHIELD stuff off) suit is the perfect blend of his 40's costume and what the comics use post-ice. Frankly, the comics suit doesn't really work in real life, but he looks Great! Even the current state of him is great - he's done with the govt, so he rips off all the attributes, but still uses the suit because it's a great tactical armor, etc. Plus it looks pretty worn - which it would be.
I love the Vision's "casual wear". It's funny - it's like he tries so hard to just blend but stands out so much. Pretty great!
Hawkeye's hood Looks pretty cool, but really wouldn't make much sense - practically or story-wise. He doesn't need to hide his identity - everyone he's with knows him, the airport is closed so nobody would see him anyway, his identity is not really a secret anyway. He doesn't need to hide anywhere, and as someone who's worn a hood before - you can't see $#!t. Not a good idea for an archer. Cool idea, but glad they didn't go with it.
AnyMan's suit in CW wasn't my favorite - I enjoyed the more "home-made" and sort of amateur look of the first one. I understand he decided to upgrade it a bit, but I feel like it kind of lost it's flair.
I'm glad they beefed up Rhody's suit a bit though. It should be big and bulky - like a tank. IM3, it was too thin - like Iron Man with a back cannon.
