Did Marvel Really Shoot Multiple Endings For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?
It's been rumoured for a while now that Marvel shot three different endings for Captain America: Civil War, but is there any truth to those reports? We finally have an answer, but beware of possible spoilers.
It was reported last year that Marvel had shot three endings for Captain America: Civil War featuring Bucky, Sharon Carter, and The Falcon all suiting up as the new Captain America following the death of Steve Rogers. It was a story we took with a pinch of salt at the time, but also one which was surprisingly believable when you take into account how hard Marvel needs to work to avoid spoilers finding their way online.
Talking to Uproxx, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have now cleared things up, though they talk about three deaths being shot rather than three different characters suiting up!
Asked about alternate endings, McFeely said. "No, I saw that on the internet and that’s crap. I read, we read we filmed three deaths." That led to Markus adding, "This is very much the movie we’ve always intended on where we wanted to stand and where we wanted to leave it."
So, here you have it! No multiple endings for Captain America: Civil War after all. As of right now, the movie's ending remains a mystery, but with fan screenings set to take place after the movie is show at CinemaCon later this week, avoiding spoilers between now and May 6th is not going to be easy.
