After the success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Joe and Anthony Russo signed on to helm the third chapter in the Captain America trilogy, Captain America: Civil War. Fans loved the first trailer as it showed the turmoil between the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Joe Russo talked about the psychological impact Civil War will have on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “It's going to be more evolved than it ever has been with in any of the films. Winter Soldier created a seismic shift in terms of the world of the Marvel Universe. This is going to create a seismic shift in the psychology of the character which is more profound. It's a very profound shift.” The recent trailer definitely showed some of that psychological shift when it came down to Tony and Cap redefining their friendship.

There aren't many franchises that last as long as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has and even fewer have reached the amount of films the MCU have created. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have become attached to the characters on an emotional level.  Joe Russo believes that the effect on the audience should be just as important as to how great a film is. “For us, we really are firm believers in stakes. We like movies with high highs and low lows and we just feel like you get a more well-rounded experience in that type of film. Now that we’re engaged in serialized storytelling, it starts with Winter Soldier and ends with the Infinity War movies. We feel it's very important that those four films, Civil War, and both Infinity War movies, have a very profound effect on the audience. I think a lot of shocking things are going to happen, which is really interesting because you haven't had this kind of... maybe other than Harry Potter, I guess you can count the Bond series… but the kind of investment over a period of time with this many characters behaving in a universe. I think our job is to send you on a very profound experience between now and 2019 and it starts with Civil War. I don't know if people will be prepared for what this movie is going to include.” The Russo brothers are definitely on the right track in acknowledging the impact that a film should have on it's audience. What do you think about Joe Russo's comments? Are you ready for Captain America: Civil War?

Captain America: Civil War hit theaters May 6, 2016.

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

So who do we think will bite the bullet?

I can't see them killing anybody in Civil War. Maybe putting Cap in a coma -- or another character.

In Infinity War, all bets are off, especially with contracts being up. I think Iron Man is a candidate for death. It would be a really strong arc for him, even though the audience would probably revolt. Hawkeye might die, although with a family, that would be pretty rough. Vision will most definitely be toast at some point.

It's kind of hard to kill Thor or Hulk, since they are near invincible.

What do you all think?

The trailer was pretty emotional. I have no doubt the Russos will knock this out of the park.
