Sebastian Stan Said "We Have To Freeze The Rescue Scene" from TFA, This Is Possibly Why!?

I have discovered something that is not total nonesense about Winter Soldier, a possible easter egg from The First Avenger film. Hit the jump to find out what it is.

A couple of months ago Sebastian Stan, the actor who plays Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger, will return as the Winter Soldier in next years sequel. Stan Talked to Empire about his return. He said "...We have to freeeze the rescue scene when captain america comes to get him back." I've watched the scene in Movieclips.com and I have discovered something:

As you can see, there is machine pointing at his head. I guess that Arnim Zola brainwashed him. Even Steve Rogers looks at the machine:

I know it's not a very good quality set of images, however, it's all there. I have also noticed that Bucky is speaking Russian when Steve arrives and that he had a silly face, acting and speaking strangely. I am starting to think, since that moment, he was already brainwahed. He might have already been converted to the early Winter Solider... Falling from that train was part of his plan and he wanted to do that.

This is my theory, and here is the clip, tell me your opinions.

I seriously doubt he wanted to fall from the train. But that does look like some sort of brain washing device and he probably was already brain washed, just without instructions on what to do. Good catch.

Interesting.

I dont think he was WS right then and there. Zola doesnt have any ties to russia that I know of.

Apart from "Falling from that train was part of his plan"...i think you're on to something, interesting idea.

I wonder if we'll get a teaser or something soon....Thor is just round the corner....appropriate time to release something...

Bucky isnt speaking Russian when Steve finds him, if u listen closely hes repeating his name and service number, as they say soldiers do when they are captured and/or being interrogated to keep from talking.

LOL, the fact that he was brainwashed in TFA was plain obvious.

He was clearly speaking russian and looked like someone played with his brain, because he barely recognized Steve

Everyone that knows a little the Bucky/Winter Soldier background, knows that those things means something.

It's strange that you guys didn't noticed it earlier!

P.S. oh and Cap is not looking at the device, he's looking at the door to see if someone is coming.. ;)

@BANE5000 LOL my mistake i heard only russian, weird that "James Buchanan Barnes - 123456" sounded something like "Капитан, я убью тебя" XD

Very cool! I can't wait to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier! It'll be interesting to see how these Phase Two movies hold up to their counterparts. The bar has been set high. I believe TWS will live up to expectations.

WTF? Comicbookmovie.com changed the text of my article a little bit and it has some grammar mistakes!

"he was already brainwahed. He might have already been converted to the early Winter Solider... Falling from that train was part of his plan and he wanted to do that."

I don't know about that. But you could tell Bucky was already starting to forget things like Steve in the army and how big he was.

I just watched that clip from the movie. Wow I can't believe I missed that on several viewings of the movie. That's actually pretty cool. Good job sporting that one!

FrankieDedo - He barely recognized Steve because the last time he saw him Steve was "scrawny Steve" and Steve is probably the last person he would expect to see there anyway.

I do think it was pretty obvious that Bucky had been messed with, though. Maybe they'll expand on that in the sequel, maybe not. But either way the seeds for Bucky becoming The Winter Soldier were planted in TFA.

When does he speak Russian? Bucky is mumbling his name and serial number, anything else he says before that is inaudible. I think what Sebastian meant when he said pay attention to this scene was that Bucky was obviously being experimented on. Zola probably just made his own version of the serum and injected Bucky with it. Zola's version of the serum didn't have the same results as Erskine's but it probably allowed Bucky to survive his fall until the Russians found him. That is my theory. :-)

Bucky is saying 'Sergeant. 3-2-5-5-7'. That's what the subtitles say, and it sounds pretty close to me, except the second '5' is slurred, and he adds another number at the end (maybe another 5).

That said, I think it's clear they're doing something special and bad to Bucky, as he's separated from the rest of the prisoners, strapped down, and has a huge machine pointed at him. He also stares straight ahead even a few moments after Cap arrives and says 'Bucky. Oh my God'.

I knew something was up when Bucky was falling from the train and he screamed "DO THE DEW!!"

He is not speaking Russian. Subtitles don't lie. I would think he was being interrogated using that device to make him talk, not brainwashed.

Either way it doesn't matter because him coming back from a thousand foot fall into a ravine is too far fetched anyway. He should have splattered like a ripe tomato when he hit bottom. Unless he has Wolverine's healing factor that just doesn't hold up even in a CBM.

It's a good speculation, of a speculation! haha, but besides that it could be possible! i mean all we can do is wait and see! It doesn't sound out of the box unrealistic! i mean, why would Bucky be the only one being tested on instead of the whole crew? why would they just throw that in the film? So it could be!

And considering Toby Jones (Arnim Zola) is in Captain Amerca TWS, they could flash back, or show stuff like this?

Concerning why bucky survives the fall, there is a river at the bottom of the cliff. He could fall into that. In real life a person would still die, but in movie land that's more acceptable than having them land on the ground.
