Dominic Cooper Hints At A CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Return

While an exact shooting date for Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier is hard to pin down at this point (sets are being built in Cleveland but rumors of a delay still persist) it's generally thought that filming will begin some time this Spring. While discussing his new movie Dead Man Down, Dominic Cooper briefly touched on the possibility of a Howard Stark flashback cameo in the movie.

It's rumored that Hayley Atwell will be returning for flashbacks in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, does the same hold true for Dominic Cooper's Howard Stark?

Yeah, they mentioned that, they mentioned it to me. But I don’t know how… I’m too busy. I’m trying to film, I’m filming at the moment, everyday, and I’m really trying to make it work but I think I’m stuck in Budapest, so at the moment its really, really tough, like I don’t know how I’m going to achieve it.

I don’t know how I’m going to get to… yeah, there was talk of it, and now I don’t know whether I can, which will be really annoying because I loved being part of those. You know, I think it was such an incredible time, and I think — you know the first one — they did such an incredible job of it. So, I will try my hardest to get Stark back into a flashback sequence or some description, but its proving rather difficult in terms of scheduling at the moment.

So far, we know the film will be a "Tom Clancy like political thriller" and will be the Phase 2 film with the heaviest S.H.I.E.L.D. presence. With Howard Stark being one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. it's quite possible that some of his actions post-CA:TFA will have some ramifications in the present.

Maybe not the place for it,,and maybe this is just it's me but I think Seabastian Stan needs to have the long locks to pull off this whole Winter Soldier look. I just never thought he looked tough or nasty enough to do it pull it off all short hair and clean cut.

They could put his filming off till later in the year, especially since it's going to be a flashback. And I doubt his appearance in the film would be that extensive.

With all that said, the Russos are not really thrilling me right now. We are supposed to be less than a month away from shooting and they don't have all the casting wrapped up yet. IM3 and Thor appear to be shaping up nicely.

CA2 is one of the most important movies leading into Avengers 2 and they put two amatuers in charge of it. I love Community and these guys are great on tv, but that doesn't mean you know how to direct and bring a tentpole movie to life. That crap movie they did does not count towards experience. I'm afraid CA2 is going to be the bust of Phase 2 and not GotG.

Jon fav didn't have an amazing career before iron man, look how that turned out. Kenneth Branagh mainly did plays, nothing on the scale of Thor but his vision and passion got the studio behind him. Joss whedon is known for tv, but he made a billion dollar movie. While I'm a little skeptical about the Russos, marvels track record with taking chances on directors has worked out so far. So full faith in marvel studios.

I agree with @ParisSun. They should be able to film his part later. That would be preferable to replacing the actor...again.
