Captain Marvel was an awesome movie which featured a lot of great surprises. Now, the various VFX companies who worked on the Marvel Studios movie have started releasing some spoilery stills and this first batch puts the spotlight on a number of key moments.

For starters, we see how Carol Danvers' confrontation with the Supreme Intelligence was brought to life and get to see some noteworthy moments from that sequence, including the Kree leader wielding the Tesseract and her messing with Captain Marvel when the hero finally declared that she wants to be free from their rule to protect the Skrulls.

Speaking of which, Carol's escape from Talos and his fellow shape-shifters is also highlighted and there are lots of great shots here to take a closer look at both in terms of how they were conceived by the VFX teams and because of how downright cool they look.

I can not think of any really bad cgi in this movie. The work they did with the de-aging was outstanding as well.

Why does that one skrull look different than the rest? He’s cgi while the rest are makeup, plus he’s got larger eyes and a more simian-esque mouth.

@tvor03 - I'm assuming it a subspecies.

I personally liked them more than the other skrulls. Not because the were CGI, but I like the deisgn wiht the big eyes.

Finally saw this yesterday. I thought it was extremely mediocre. Wasted appearances by a boatload of actors. Razor thin plot...bland jokes...soundtrack had no impact...the lead wasn't really given much to work with.

It was a little bizarre to see a marvel movie where the crowd had no reaction to anything, not the jokes or the action...especially after how crazy the theater went in IW for Thor's arrival in Wakanda.

@LordHarryLatts - No offense, but for any movie, if you watch it almost a month later, the audience is always super quiet. The loud audience shows up in the first week or two.

@GoldGuy - I saw the film twice in the first week, and the audience was plenty loud. Hec, Goose got a lot of "Aw!" type comments.

Captain Marvel is at times a crazily beautiful, almost creepily weird movie. Really made me excited to see what they do with Eternals
