COMICS: Barbara Gordon To Replace Stephanie Brown as Nightwing In SMALLVILLE SEASON 11?

New information has came out that in the latest season of Smallville, which is being released in comic book form, Batman's side kick Nightwing will be replaced from what was originally Stephanie Brown to Barbara Gordon.

A lot of skepticism has been met with Batman being introduced in to the Samllville universe. Not because of the Dark Knight himself, but because of the side-kick he is bringing with him. It was earlier reported that Nightwing would be making the jump to the pages of Smallville Season 11 as well. The only kicker is that it wouldn't be Dick Grayson but rather Stephanie Brown. Now according to Bleeding Cool there is another change afoot with Nightwing in the comic. Their sources tell them that Stephanie Brown is out and Barbara Gordon is in. “If what my mysterious sources says is true, Stephanie Brown will not be appearing in upcoming issues of Smallville Season Eleven as Batman’s sidekick Nightwing. Which had been previously announced by writer Bryan Q. Miller," said the site. They also go on to say that a recoloring of the art and some changing of the dialogue has taken place as well. DC has not officially announced this yet so for now take it with a pinch of salt.

No chance. It's still gonna be Stephanie because BQM wrote for the Stephanie-as-Batgirl book before the New 52. Of course he'll keep her. Also, if you don't like Smallville DON'T READ THE ARTICLE!!!!! Morons...

They've even managed to make Batman into a joke. This is almost as bad as Joel Schumacker's version.

Smallville was horrible show. For what ever brief moments of greatness it had, its quickly shadowed by the years of terrible seasons and anti-climatic plots. This comic shldnt eben exist.

@IgnurRant Well obviously people enjoyed it and the show was good, otherwise, the comic wouldn't have happened. ;)

I think I know why they didn't continue this with the live action show...because it was a terrible show!

First three seasons of Smallville were great, after that it went downwards big time for seven painful years!

Here's a sad fact for Smallville haters-

This series is outselling every other comic that doesn't have Batman in its title, and it's probably not going to hurt when Batman shows up in the next issue.

@shiverman20 Smallville is only 3 print issues in. The Bat books are 11 in... The Bat books are really good. Smallville is really good. Yet Smallville is still outselling it... Hmmm

by quantity I was talking about the amount of sales... I've always been bewildered by Smallville, as the few people I know who like it are the goons who eat up The OC and all that trash, I don't get how comic book fans get anything from it... Just opinions and thoughts of course

WTF is the reason behind having either barbara or steph as Nightwing??? They are there own established character already... F%$$ man what the hell are these guys smoking when they come up with such stupid ideas???

Smallville fans have shitty taste anyway, this is why they buy a shitty comic book and keep liking smallville.

But thank you for supporting DC. Next time you buy smallville in you local comic book store, don't forget to grab real comic books like Action Comics, Batman, Green Lantern, Animal Man, Aquaman, etc.

Look at the picture WaylonJones posted.

The cover artist made Superman (from Smallville) look like Henry Cavill (look at the chin, etc.). TW is so lame that the artist did not bother to use him as a model even if the book is called Shitville.

@AtomicChipmunk Out of all your choices (which are mostly great), liking the new Action Comics IS of shitty taste. :)

Can't be worst than smallville? :)

You know, when I was a passive reader, I wanted to register and defend smallville from users like (LEE something?). However, the series finale was such a huge letdown that I rage anytime I see smallville somewhere. Can't stop insulting loyal fans, smallville creative team, smallville actors.

Superman fans are disconnected from reality if they think this is any good.

TRUTH!!!!

My point exactly

It was just shitville #1 that outsold other comics on Comixology (the digital platform).
Minato
Minato - 7/12/2012, 2:49 PM
Not only batman and nightwing but every character that goes thru smallville ends up some twisted distorted pale comparison to their comic counterpart. This includes superman himself and whats so bad about it is they are doing it in print so theres no reason for it now.

Just joking but I don't like how smallville lobotomizes my favorite characters
AtomicChipmunk
AtomicChipmunk - 7/12/2012, 2:55 PM
Problem is, there are two possibilities.

Smallville's sales increase => more money for DC => more money for interesting projects (everybody wins)

or

Smallville's sales increase => more money for DC => "Hey it seems they like Smallville", let's give them some more, and let's target this audience with similar products (= more bad comics and bad tv shows).

Absolutely scandalous. I didn't bother reading the ullshit reasons. There is a real Stephnie Brown conspiracy afoot.
