Didya Know? That there are already 3 Live GREEN LANTERNS before Ryan Reynolds.

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” -Mahatma Gandhi. Come June 17, 2011 the flood gates of OA will open and we will literally be swarmed by thousands of GREEN LANTERNS, but before this cavalry arrives let us stop for a moment and look at the few live GREEN LANTERNS who have trickled ahead of the pack.

But before we name who these GREEN LANTERNS are. let us first give a brief description of what a GREEN LANTERN is for the few unfortunate souls who comes to our site and gets caught with our madness.

According to DC Wikia:
Green Lantern is a superhero and an intergalactic police officer in the DC Universe. The weapon he wields is a power ring that translates his ideas into green energy using the strength of his willpower. He is a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an organization created by the Guardians of the Universe that has established thousands of members distributed throughout each space sector. There have been several assigned to the planet Earth in Sector 2814.

That being cleared here are the Pre-Reynolds Emerald Lanterns.

The first live appearance of Green Lantern was way back in 1979 in Legends of the Superheroes TV specials. This version of GREEN LANTERN is Hal Jordan and he was portrayed by Howard Murphy.
Legends of the Superheroes is an umbrella title for two one-hour and live-action Hanna–Barbera TV specials based on the Super Friends cartoon show that aired on NBC in January 1979. The specials were produced like standard variety shows of the time: on videotape, and with a laugh track.
Sinestro also appeared in this show he was played by Charlie Callas. The character in the show is already wearing a yellow ring and no longer a GREEN LANTERN.
Here's a [link] to see a video of this version's GREEN LANTERN and SINETRO. The video is an exclusive clip in Newsaram and cannot be embed here.

The next appearance of a GREEN LANTERN is in the unsuccessful 1997 pilot for a live-action Justice League of America television series. The character is played by Matthew Settle. This Green Lantern is an amalgamation of several of earth's Green Lanterns, he uses the name Guy Gardner with Hal Jordan's personality, his costume is a mixture of Guy's vest and Kyle Rayner's crab mask.
In this version he is a Software Salesman, with his relationship with his girlfriend in a constant state of unrest.

The hit series Smallville also had a brief cameo of a GREEN LANTERN. This time the version shown is the Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott. Though not in full costume he was shown inside a prison cell, while holding the bars and on his a GREEN LANTERN ring is clearly seen. Doug Pinton is the actor who portrayed this GREEN LANTERN

Now that we have whet our appetite with Live GREEN LANTERNS. How I wish June 17, 2011 is just seconds away. So, that we will have our first look of what a decent GREEN LANTERN should look like but our first experience in live media what a powerful armada the GREEN LANTERN CORPS is.

I just saw that Justice League of America pilot on youtube yesterday and it was awful! Guy Gardner with the hair of Hal Jordan and some Kyle Rayner too. And I watched some clips of Legends of the Superheroes. I especially laughed at Ghetto Man.
