Mondo, the Texas based Alamo Drafthouse's poster boutique, has already made some excellent posters for the likes of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pixar etc and now their new partnership with DC means we will start seeing official posters for their comics and eventually movies. This first one by JC Richard is inspired by Richard Donners first Superman..

Fortress of Solitude is 12 x 32 in an edition of 390. It’ll cost $50 and go on sale at a random time Black Friday, November 25.

Here is an excerpt from the press release..

The DC Comics series, in partnership with Sideshow Collectibles, will encompass both comics and films as Mondo artists tackle some of the most iconic characters of all time. “We wanted to kick off the DC Comics series with an art print from arguably the most famous character ever, but in a unique way which focuses on the iconic Fortress of Solitude,” said Mondo’s Creative Director Justin Ishmael.

As I'm sure you all know, DC have a couple of little movies coming out over the next couple of years. The Dark Knight Rises and Man Of Steel. I think it's a safe bet we will see something from Mondo at some point.

Yeah this isn't their best work at all, but the news of the DC partnership is awesome because generally their stuff is great.

I love Superman. I will always love Superman, but I am so tired of the cinematic vision being the exclusive property of Donner. it's been almost 40 years (lord, I am old)...I so so hope Synder's give some new iconic vision to interpreting classic locations / icons like the Fortress, etc.
oh and I am a big fan of Mondo overall but I agree that this isn't their best work. That said, I look forward to seeing what the do with Batman in particular.

Checking this out on my phone. Can anyone on a computer see if Supes has his trunks on? I'm assuming yes.
