No, you won't be surprised. At all! In fact Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight won by a HUGE margin with a whopping 1,585 Votes (54.71%). A very distant second was it's prequel Batman Begins with 288 Votes (9.94%) and the mighty Superman: The Movie only managed a third place spot with 247 Votes (8.53%). My personal favorite Watchmen earned a respectable fourth place spot.

Here are the results in full..

We now have out four movies that will duke it out for the title of best CBM of all time. Yes, only four, based on four polls which covered pretty much every CBM we have had so far and representing every studio/brand. Keep an eye out for the poll sometime towards the end of the week/early next week.

UPDATE: Just realized that we will need one more poll! I thought I had all bases covered but there were a few significant omissions so look out for the "Best Of The Rest" Poll before the final one.

I agree with Teabag. The Dark Knight Rises is going to be one of the greatest ever, quite possibly. And Man of Steel has also the potential. Superman deserved a higher ranking.

Exactly, a lot of SHIT. Was anyone going to vote for Catwoman? Superman 4, sorry Tea, Swamp Thing? If they were they deserve to feel put out:)

Tea, yeah RED was pretty meh, some good bits but I certainly don't want a sequel. But I want another Die Hard even less. Didn't Die Hard 4 say all it needed to when Bruce Willis drove into a fire hydrant and knocked a man out of a helicopter with the water spurt?

@tea: one of the best things about BB is the opening/training montage. it's a good 30-40 minutes but feels like 15. not a dull moment.
MoonDoggyX
MoonDoggyX - 11/8/2011, 5:32 AM
I just surprised that the watchmen got as many votes as it did. It was good in the comic bookiness, btu not to strong in the movie elements. Snyder has AWESOME style but even 300 and especially Sucker Punch was lacking on the story side of things... that said, Snyder's films have produced some of the coolest visuals I have ever seen on film, but I am glad that nolan, goyer and shannon has endorsed the script for man of steel. We could havethe makings of the best CBM ever!

Caedus137 - 11/8/2011, 5:37 AM
I still don't get why people enjoy Watchmen so much... For my money it was a straight up bad film. Long, convoluted, and above all else just plain boring. My vote here would go to Batman Begins followed by - wait for it - Superman Returns. Yup, I said it.
Mazoku
Mazoku - 11/8/2011, 5:39 AM
Although I don't think it should have one, the Road to Perdition is at least worth a mention in the debate. It's an underrated film and one of Tom Hanks greatest acting performances.

if you take batman begins & the dark knight away from the poll, the nolanites will get confused & wouldn't know what to vote for.

Tea - Haha! Well played Sir...
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 11/8/2011, 5:46 AM
Yes because only "Nolanites" would vote for those movies? Cop on. There is also all of the "Goodtasteinmoviesites"

I also love Begins and I guess it is more of a "comic book" style. But I just think TDK edges it in quality with the inclusion of Joker and Dent. Ras and Scarecrow were good villains but neither had enough time to make an impact what with it being Batman's origin story. TDK gave us a well rounded triple header with some awesome exchanges.

i agree!!! Batman Begins, when Batman was still a Comic Book Movie and not a police thriller.
