Bleeding Cool ran the story first but
Entertainment Weekly has now confirmed that something monumental is happening in tomorrow's Batman #24. On a rainy rooftop in Gotham City, Batman is going to drop down on one knee and ask Catwoman to marry him.
Speaking on this development, Tom King teases that Selina Kyle might not accept Bruce's diamond ring. "
I want people to go home and be like, ‘Should she marry him? Should she say yes?’ There’s a whole conversation that could come out of this. Everyone’s done vengeance, everyone’s done ‘The night is so dark.' "
"Giving Batman more pain doesn’t reveal anything about his character because he’s taken as much pain as he can. But giving him love and joy, that combines with the tragedy of his past into something new and never done before."
And indeed, King confirms that the readers won't learn her answer until the next issue.
Batman #24 goes on sale tomorrow at the price tag of $2.99. Tom King writes while David Finch supplies the art.
