For this editorial I will be using four directors whom I believe have directed some of the most critically/commercially successful films in recent history. Remember, these directors are MY favorite, so they're not necessarily yours. And that's okay, we are all humans, we all have opinions just like we all have another body part, and they all stink. That being said, lets count down.
Christopher Nolan:

I know, he did the Batman series. I know, he's gone, probably never to return again. I know, I've read the interviews as well. But, IF he were to come back, what would I want him to direct? Well, Interstellar had probably the best representation of space in films in history. I know that his comedic approach is quite subtle, but there at the same time. It's intellegent, not in your face. And he's amazing at characters and character traits/flaws. I think that if he were to come back, he should do the Green Lantern reboot. The result would be pretty stunning, as he would find a medium between excessive CG, and excessive realism. Plus, if he were to do it, and with his habit of reusing actors, we may get Matthew Mcconaughey, which, face it, we'd all love.
Martin Scorcesse:
This man is a legend, and my favorite director ever. His films have a certain comedic approach, while also using a style of realistic/excessive violence. Mob movies are a big thing with him as well, with films such as Goodfellas, The Departed, and Casino showcasing organized crime. That is why I would love it if he were to direct an adaptation (loose or strict, doesn't matter) of Batman: The Long Halloween. He could really get into the mind of Batman, possibly even better than Nolan, and he as well reuses actors, so bring him in, and we may get a Robert De Niro Carmine Falcone/ Leonardo Di Caprio Alberto and/or Mario Falcone.
David Fincher
This director is a master at taking people that we should hate, and making them into who we remember most. Look at Tyler Durden, Mark Zuckerburg, and most recently Amy Dunne. He's been up for Spider-Man, but if he were to do a CBM, then it should be something that showcases the villain and/antihero, not the hero. So imagine a Deathstroke movie. A villain with a twist, he doesn't care. He's in it for the money. Nothing more. A David Fincher Deathstroke movie would be a thriller, whether it shows his relationship with his son Jericho, or just him on a mission, this movie would be boss. And let's not forget, with all the hype coming to this character more and more, a Deathstroke movie may not be out of the question...
David Yates
This man' s most known work is the Harry Potter franchise, which is actually my favorite fantasy franchise. He did a great job at capturing the teen angst in those films, which was one of the focuses in "The Half Blood Prince". So, the best movie I think this man could direct, besides a Green Lantern film, is a Teen Titans film. He is good at working with younger actors, and is very trusted by Warner Brothers, as he is coming back for "Fantastic Beasts". One of the films announced is a Cyborg movie coming out in 2020. And a lot of people have expressed concerned, as they don't know Ray Fisher enough to trust he can carry a film. Well, what if, plot twist, it's actually "Cyborg and the Teen Titans!" And the crowd...THEY GO INSANE!
