For whatever reason, Marvel Studios simply can't get its Blade movie off the ground. Mahershala Ali + Vampires should result in guaranteed success, but as things stand, Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan's untitled vampire movie is likely to reach theaters first.
On the plus side, the Living Vampire is going from strength to strength on the page!
This October, a new dawn breaks for the Daywalker. After being at the centre of the world's greatest threat in Marvel's bloodiest event to date, Blood Hunt, Blade's future will run red in his very own Red Band comic book series.
Writer Bryan Edward Hill (Ultimate Black Panther) returns to the iconic character with Marvel's Stormbreaker artist C.F. Villa (Avengers) to launch the all-new Blade: Red Band limited series.
For years, Bade has been the deadliest vampire hunter in the Marvel Universe. With an arsenal of wooden stakes, silver bullets and razor bats at his command, few have known the taste of vengeance of blood like Blade! But after the harrowing events of Blood Hunt, what’s left of Marvel's most infamous vampire? Did any of the vampire within Blade survive? Did any of the man?
We'll find out here at the skin-searing dawn of a bloody new Blade saga. Many fans are convinced a higher power has brainwashed the anti-hero, so that could explain his recent actions. Alternatively, Blade: Red Band may serve as his redemption arc.
Labelled with a Parental Advisory and polybagged to keep those weak of heart from experiencing its intensity, Blade: Red Band will bring visceral vampiric violence to the page like never seen before. Similar to Marvel's old MAX imprint, these Red Band titles hold nothing back and get seriously gory.
Stay tuned for more details and previews in the coming weeks and, for now, check out C.F. Villa's awesome Blade: Red Band #1 cover below.
