@dougieisrollthejays expect X-Men to fade a little when Marvel begins to focus on the Inhumans, specially when they release a movie.

@dougieisrollingthejays: I'm pretty sure the only people who would be crying in that situation would be the die-hard X-Men fanboys who live and die by the comic books, and won't accept the films as valid X-Men stories. They would literally be the only people left out in the cold under those circumstances.

(Then again, so many of them are so nit-picky about what's happening in the comics, they'd probably be rejoicing if the books just got cancelled anyway. So I guess those people wouldn't really be happy under ANY circumstances. In which case, I kinda have to pity them.)

xmen has always been marvel top seller, the only reason they made such abig move with the inhumans recently is because they cant use mutants in the movies, but i dont think it will work

I'm pretty sure that all the money Fox get from the X-Men doesn't come from comics readers exclusively.

It's like people stuck in an abusive relationship, they defend and stick to their user and abuser despite knowing deep down they deserve better and there is better out there. Yet when someoneshows and explains to them they deserve to be treated better, instead they lash out because they have been so brainwashed and shatted on by their abuser and are so accustomed to it, but you can break the cycle! You can do it, you can kick the Fox habit that has claimed so many lives! It starts with getting out of denial 1st!

The ONLY, single reason Marvel Comics is changing the until-now-unique Inhumans to be be the new de facto Marvel "mutants" is so that they can have that oppressed-because-their-different, awesomely popular theme that the mutant X-Men seem to have a proprietary patent on, to use in their Marvel Studios Universe films. And yes, an Inhumans movie is planned.There is no way they're prying the X-Men rights away from Fox, so they decided to do the next best thing (as THEY see it) . . . make more "mutants." And the EASIEST way for them to do that (THEY believe) is to bastardize the Inhumans to become the hunted, hated, feared, and misunderstood NEW "mutants."

They have the right to do this. Of course they do. They have the right to print five variant foil covers for a new comic that came out years ago. They have the right to turn The Falcon into a SHIELD agent. They have the right turn Electro into a blue guy with a hoodie.

They think (and there are MANY on this site who agree) that if you drastically alter the comic (or change the character) BEFORE the movie comes out, and then pattern the movie on some of those changed elements, that you can THEN say something like, "Well the great thing about the movie plot is how closely it stays faithful to the comic." An example of this is Captain America's SHIELD issued Super Safety Child Protection Helmet. He MAY be (an argument for another column) the greatest hand to hand fighter in the Marvel comic universe. He is DEFINITELY it's greatest battle strategist. He (as a super-powered being) has existed since the winter of 1940. He survived WW2. He did it all with a cowl and a shield. No helmet, and certainly NO knee-pads. But NOW because of the movies – SUDDENLY (before the movies came out) – everywhere you look, Cap is gussied up like a police dog trainer, with extra padding and protection as if he were just some ordinary guy who can't take a punch.
He's a comic book SUPERHERO! I want to see capes and cowls and death rays and Cap dodging everything but for the ricochets off his shield. If he's so dang delicate why hasn't he had one of his MANY super-brilliant friends design a skin-tight force field for him? Why hasn't he had Iron Man make him an unbreakable Battle-Shell?
Because he doesn't need it, anymore than he needs that REEEE-DICK-ULOUS chin strap he's been sportin' lately.
NONE of this would have happened if not for the misguided attempt of producers to make his movie persona more . . . wait for it . . . "realistic."

Ooooo . . . *shudder*

Two points and I'm out:
1) Again I say that just because Marvel Studios can technically say they are being faithful to the comic spirit, doesn't make it so. They can do what ever they want with those Disney owned characters. It is their right. But don't try and feed me BS and tell me it's cake.
2) By in large I have really liked the movies. I KNOW . . . who saw that coming. But I really wish Marvel comics (owned by that marketing juggernaut Disney) would stop retro fitting their comics to match the wrapped (albeit entertaining) version of the Marvel universe portrayed in the movies.

So until Thor gets his old-school uniform back (in the comics, NOT the movies); until Black Bolt and the Royal Family resume being the MAJOR SOURCE (all caps) of Earth's contact with Inhumans (as you KNOW is about to change),

. . . count me as one disenfranchised Marvel zombie.

People commenting about the inhumans movie that isn't even released or technically 'confirmed'. And bitching about plot details that don't even exist at this point.

God the Comic book community are a fickle effing bunch.
