Marvel comics (not the movies) recently revealed that one of the members of the Fantastic 4 will be killed. I am a big fan of the comics and the movies and I am personally not excited about the news. Granted, like the article stated, they have killed off main characters in comics before and eventually brought them back, but I still don't like them messing with my favorite super hero team. Everybody likes a little change now and then but this seems like a drastic one and could change the landscape of the comic all together. There are talks of even calling it the Terrific 3! who hear is with me and saying this shouldn't happen? And who do you think will be killed off? I am guessing Sue Storm.

it won't be reed, they've already killed him off and brought him back once before. Thing is in New Avengers and they made a big deal about him joining, so i doubt it'll be him.

Probably Sue.

but who cares? whoever it is will be back ina year or two.

I have a horrible feeling that it'll be Johnny. I really hope not though! Sue or Reed dying really wouldnt bother me that much, so kill one of them please Marvel! It definitely wont be The Thing as he's in the New Avengers and in a promo picture for "Fear Itself" which comes out next April!

Meh. And here we go again. The "cheap shock" that will generate mainstream publicity and sell a few more books. The "dead" hero that will return through some convoluted explanation in a year or two. Whoopdee freaking do. This has become so cliched, it's beyond ridiculous. All that comic stories are these days are cheap shocks or manipulative and contrived "events" that are primarily driven to coerce you to buy a lot of titles you don't read to have any clue what's going on, which is all leading towards a contrived conclusion.

I cannot convey via words alone how much this bothers me. I love superhero comics, and always will, and it pains me to see what they have degenerated into. Give me time this weekend, maybe I should write my first article for this fine website about this. I can't be the only one here who is truly bothered by the current state of comic books.

I haven't read F4 in a long time I wasn't even sure if Franklin was still around or what. It just makes more sense to me because it would devastate the entire team more so if a kid is taken out as opposed to one of the members, and like you said might in turn push one of them to call a quits.

Whoever they kill wont be dead for more than a year. They'll just find some reason to bring him back. Ohh his mind was trapped in time, they never found the body, he's trapped in a parallal universe or some BS like that.

I think it may be Reed. Reed is so a powerful figure in the Marvel universe (being the smartest) and his death would impact the team and the rest of the world greatly. Sue would suffer the loss of her husband, The Thing would have lost his best friend, and Johnny would have lost his brother in law, and his mentor. Reed is the leader and the one that holds them together.

Plus, Reed needs to find a way to redeem himself after Civil War. Also, Reed is a really underappreciated character and if he dies, the world will see how much they needed him.

I've hated reed all my life so i'm with Sagemode. Kill Reed DEAD, and keep him that way forever!!! Have She-Hulk take Ben's place(leaving FF for Avengers) and continue the team with Johnny and Sue along side her. PERIOD. Hell, kill off Franklin WITH Reed :))

the reason i think it will be sue is because she is the glue that holds them together. Reed without Sue will be lost, Johnny being her brother will lose control and Thing wont be able to keep them together( thats why he is with the new avengers). Eventually i think its a ploy by marvel to get the rights back from fox, fox will have trouble selling the terrific 3 then fantastic 4.
