Marvel Comics Kills Off A Major Character In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #26 - SPOILERS

This week's issue of The Amazing Spider-Man kills off a beloved Marvel Comics character, and while you may think you know who it'll be, we can assure you it will be a shocker!

Marvel Comics has been hinting at the death of a major character in the pages of Zeb Wells' The Amazing Spider-Man run for a while, and the individual in question was killed-off in this week's issue - but it's almost certainly not who readers were expecting!

All signs pointed to Mary Janes Watson meeting her maker, with artwork for The Amazing Spider-Man #25 and #26 echoing iconic covers for the Death of Gwen Stacy, but with MJ in Gwen's place. However, things played out very differently.

Warning: Massive spoilers from this point on.

Bleeding Cool has learned that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, will die in TASM issue #26.

This is a bit of a shocker, to say the least. Kamala doesn't have her own series at the moment, but she played a part in the current TASM run, and was also involved in the Spider-Man/X-Men crossover, Dark Web. We fully expected Marvel Comics to place more of a focus on the character with The Marvels on its way to the big screen, but headlines are headlines at the end of the day.

We're not sure exactly how she died (we assume Peter is at least indirectly responsible), so be sure to pick up the issue for yourselves if you're curious.

We can't see Khan staying dead (does anyone?) for very long, but it'll be interesting to see how and when she's resurrected. If she does come back, could it be as a Mutant and not an Inhuman in order to bring the hero more in line with her live-action counterpart?

Check out some scans below, and be sure to share your theories in the comments.

The worst Spider-Man run maybe ever. What a colossally stupid idea and story.

Never read a comic with her, haven't read anything from Marvel for like the last 20 years, so I don't care, but I still know she will be back in just a few months max.

@SethBullock - She's got a major motion picture coming out soon. Like she's gonna be dead then? They really have a low opinion of the fanbase's intelligence, haven't they?

Who is still reading ASM at this point? It sounds like it’s been one of the worst titles going for a time now

Says a lot about impact when the thing that's bugging me more than her death is seeing MJ hug Paul. JRJR's art is just not the same as it was before. This entire run has been to piss off fans and coast on shock value.

Why would Miss Marvel die in a spiderman comic?

Why would she be in a Spider-Man comic anyway? Why not just have her be a supporting character in the Captain Marvel book? Oh well.🤣 I do find it interesting, that Marvel doesn't want Peter and MJ together, but they also don't wanna kill her off, or retire the character. The movies get a lot of criticism, but the people in comics, are sometimes so bad at storytelling.
