COMICS: The Original Wolverine Tracks Down Thor In The Second Of Marvel's After-Credits Scenes

Marvel's "after-credits" scenes continued in this week's issue of Mighty Thor as the recently resurrected Wolverine went on the hunt for Jane Foster. Hit the jump for details on how things played out...

Going into Marvel Legacy #1, we all assumed the issue would feature the return of Jean Grey. While that character is in the process of returning in Phoenix Resurrection, it was actually the original Wolverine who came back from the dead there and while we saw him in possession of one of the Infinity Stones, we have no idea what he's up to or when he'll make himself known to his fellow heroes.

Well, a few months ago, Marvel announced that Logan would show up in a number of different comics due out this month in what they're calling "post-credits scenes." The second of those came in yesterday's issue of Mighty Thor #703 as Wolverine popped into the hospital to leave some flowers - minus a card - for Jane Foster, someone who wasn't even Thor before the mutant ended up dying.

The next of these after-credits scenes will arrive in Amazing Spider-Man #794 and it's going to be interesting seeing if Logan is going to once again miss the hero he's looking for as this is the second time it's happened! They're also not shedding any light on what he's up to so far and it's easy to imagine fans losing interest as a result. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts below.

Wolverine is overrated. Marvel needs to show Cyclops some more love.

Theres no after credits in comics... Why are they calling them that? It's so damn stupid. I'm still very glad I haven't read Marvel comics in a long time. Hell I even started to read less DC even though those comics are way better than anything Marvel is putting. Hopefully Spidey starts to get good soon.

Why does Wolverine look like Bernthal?

So I went to the comic shop yesterday and I get there and he says “Sorry, no books”. The truck driver got caught in a snowstorm up north and didn’t make it down here yet. I guess I’m glad he’s safe but damn is that annoying especially on Thor week! Being a Texan I’m not used to snow getting in the way of my comic books.

@TheUnworthyThor - snow’s getting in the way of pretty much everything down here this week!

@TheBeard - shit... I remember when I went to school near Erie... We had 4.5 feet of snow in one storm near the end of my first semester. It was far more than the worst snow I had seen growing up near Philly. I had a few friends from Buffalo, and they were like, “this ain’t shit!”

Why do I read this Logan like he is a cowboy and not a canuck?

@KindredMac - technically since he is from Alberta, he is a cowboy. Alberta is cowboy country in Canada

@KindredMac - He's been dressing like that for 40 years...

@KingGrimlock - What I mean is the dialogue, to me at least, reads like he is speaking like John Wayne with the tonal inflections.

I would like to see something actually happening with this.

but comics are a slow burn.

Cheap excuse to make you buy books that aren't selling well. None of these appearances are advancing a story.

Calling them after-credits is for illiterates. It's called an 'epilogue'.

None of this "Logan tracking down X" makes sense. He would be making a beeline for the X-Men in general, or at the very least either: A) Hank McCoy, B) Kitty Pryde, or C) Storm.

@Omegacron - Man, I agree 100%. He SHOULD be looking for the X-Men. They are his friggin' family.

But remember, he's an Avenger now. And apparently they are more important than his family in Marvel's eyes. Just like how he took the Avenger's side in AvX. That was such BS.
