COMICS: Tony Stark Finally Returns In Marvel Legacy's INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #593

Marvel Legacy promises to restore the Marvel Universe to something resembling its former self and it's now been revealed that Tony Stark will once again suit up as the Invincible Iron Man later this year.

Ever since the events of Civil War II, Tony Stark has been comatose and an A.I. has been serving in his place. However, he's no longer the only Iron Man out there as the young Riri Williams and sinister Doctor Doom have also been flying around in suits of armour. Well, with Marvel Legacy launching this fall, Tony looks set to finally make his return to the Marvel Universe in the pages of Invincible Iron Man.

Here's what Brian Michael Bendis had to say about the long overdue return of the Armoured Avengers:

"Well, the theme of Legacy was already very strongly in the forefront story of the Iron Man series. Not only has Tony’s mantle been passed on as he lays in a coma, but it’s been picked up by Riri Williams, a newcomer and relative stranger, and Victor Von Doom… who is one of the great villains of all time anywhere. On top of this, Tony had JUST discovered the identity of his birth mother and was just getting to figure some stuff out about himself and his legacy when the events of Civil War 2 came crashing down on him. So we have Tony’s legacy, Riri discovering her place in it, and Victor trying to reinvent his… and that’s just the stuff I’m willing to say."

Bendis refused to reveal whether or not things are building up to a three-way battle between Tony, Riri, and Victor for the Iron Man mantle, but the cover below for Invincible Iron Man #593 (the title's original numbering) seems to make it clear that the real deal will return in the build up to issue #600.

Are you guys excited about the return of Tony Stark? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place!

"Finally returns"

What, are we all dogs whose owners took the trash out? He's been "gone" for ten minutes in the loosest sense of the word.

This was one of the stupidest deaths in the recent comics.His death had almost no impact.His AI replaced him almost immediately so he was not really missed.

@PantherKing @DonDave @MrMediocre I'm sorry for my ignorance guys.But you have to admit that the AI removes the impact of tony being in a coma.

@EnnisFan -
I was actually prepared, what i DID NOT expect was for them to overhype this shit so damn much.
It makes 0 sense, why would you do that? No wonder ppl laugh their ass about this joke of a relaunch.

Now watch as all the "die hard fans" who demanded that Tony come back continue not to read the series.

@BIGBMH - They just like to complain, and if you check out some of the comments above they prove my point. They are already calling it lame before the issue has dropped. I can careless about Tony, he was always better suited as a team player, he could never hold his own series.

No one cares, no one really read Iron Man books, they just want to complain about anything. Why you think Tony been a teenager, replaced by Rhodes, replaced by Pepper, replaced by RiRi, replaced by Doom and a AI.
