SPOILERS: SECRET EMPIRE #5 Features More Shock Returns As Major Characters Are Resurrected

Today's issue of Secret Empire was once again packed full of big twists and turns and that included the shock return of two major characters. You definitely won't have seen this one coming, folks...

Each and every issue of Secret Empire has featured some big twists and turns and today's fifth instalment saw the return of two very familiar faces. The series once again took us to the weird dreamscape where an amnesiac Steve Rogers has been trapped (seemingly alongside versions of Bucky and War Machine, both of whom had dealings with the Cosmic Cube lately before dying/vanishing) and it was there that the Red Skull - who HydraCap murdered in cold blood - reappeared ready for action.

What this means remains to be seen, but theories that the "real" Steve Rogers (or at least his essence) has been trapped within the Cube now seem to make perfect sense given the Red Skull's presence.

However, by far the biggest reveal came on the final page when we learned that Bruce Banner, a.k.a. The Hulk is alive and well. He was taken out by Hawkeye during Civil War II and his body was later taken into Hydra custody by Captain America but here is once again among the living and a weapon Cap plans on using against Iron Man and his Avengers to end the conflict with them once and for all!

What do you guys make of these latest developments? Let us know that in the comments section.

@MattBellissimo - we have a like button, can we get a dislike one? i think it's been good so far.

@MattBellissimo - Spencer is a terrible writer, but I've honestly enjoyed some of the spin off stories. Like this week's Amazing Spiderman and the spin off about the XMen fbeing given their own territory.
But yeah, that main book is doodoo.

I'm betting the people who are bashing this event haven't picked up a single issue but read the details of sites.

@PantherKing - been keeping up with the entire thing and I really don't like it, great art, some bits are fine, the issue with the dinner with Ultron/Pym was where they completely lost me. I'm going to see it through the end but I certainly am not enjoying it. If you are though all power to you I'm just trying to say some people have very legitimate gripes with this event.

@EnnisFan - I don't have a problem with people who have read it but it's the ones that read stuff of an article and start talking crap that are the problem
DillonEnnis
DillonEnnis - 6/28/2017, 8:06 AM
@PantherKing - Yeah and that's completely fair I just wouldn't jump to the conclusion that people haven't read it if they say they don't like it

@EnnisFan - Most people on this site state they don't read it and it is fair

@PantherKing - yeah that's why there are always far fewer comments on the Comic News articles but whatever haha I generally agree with your sentiment just wanted to point out a lot of people have valid issues with the event, that's all, glad you're enjoying it to each his own

@PantherKing - I've read every bit of it so far. There isn't much good to say about it. It doesn't even focus on heroes anyone cares about. The most useful characters are just being ignored in favor of ones nobody cares about. Its probably the sloppiest crossover I can recall.

So does this mean the cap that was stranded in the woods was the ultimate cap and not the real one?
