The Fantastic Four are returning to the Marvel Universe this August, and Marvel Comics has released a teaser trailer hyping the return of Marvel's first family.

The trailer showcases some of the Fantastic Four's greatest battles, while also highlighting the cover of Issue #1.

"Celebrate the Fantastic Four with a view into their past and a look towards the future, from their debut in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s classic 1961 issue to their much-anticipated return in August’s upcoming new series from Dan Slott (Amazing Spider-Man, Silver Surfer), Sara Pichelli (Spider-Man: Miles Morales), and Esad Ribic (Infamous Iron Man, Marvel Legacy, Secret Wars)!"

As for the cover, it provides our first glimpse at the new looks for the Thing (Ben), Invisible Woman (Sue), and Mr. Fantastic (Reed), who is sporting an impressive beard that is at least on par with that of Captain America's in Avengers: Infinity War. The Human Torch (Johnny) looks fairly similar because, well, he's on fire; although, there are some differences in his flamed appearance.

The new Fantastic Four series is written by Dan Slott with art by Sara Pichelli and covers by Esad Ribic. Look out for Fantastic Four to return this August.

As for their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen, well, let's cross our fingers that Disneys acquisition of 21st Century Fox gets approved.

Cancelling the fantastic four had to be marvel's all time pettiest action.

@MyCoolYoung - How about treating the X Men like shit, and trying to replace them with Inhumans. At least the Richards family went of exploring, and Thing and Human Torch joined other teams, the X Men had a lot of shit happen to them

@MyCoolYoung - Didn't Marvel do it as a reaction to the last F4 movie? I think their intention was that if they disappeared from the public eye that Fox wouldn't go ahead with their proposed reboot of the failed reboot. The heads at Marvel were really upset by the last movie apparently. I supposed their tactic worked at least.

@MyCoolYoung - with 100's of millions maybe billions on the table who could blame them.

And now Marvel is just waiting for the ink to dry to get both back. But I don't expect these Fox Flunkies to understand the difference between pettiness and brilliant chess moves. But I am looking forward to finally seeing real live action F4 films (and X-men) to go with classic comic lore.

Loving the costume and The Thing’s design!

I really hope this and the MCU make people realize that not only are the Fantastic Four awesome, but they are NOT to be [frick]ed with

Not a fan of the cover art but nonetheless I am very excited for this series.

I can’t believe they replaced Reed with Old Man Logan but who am I to judge

@LEVITIKUZ - From a promo image you can see that Val and Franklin are aged up so it’ll be interesting to see how old Sue and Reed are now. Looks like playing god of the new multiverse wasn’t easy on Reed.

@JK2point0 - Not the best cover but I love that they got Ribic back for continuity with Secret Wars, where the FF met their end.
