Award-winning comic book creators Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick have reportedly signed (or are close to signing) an overall deal with Amazon Prime Video to adapt two of their more controversial titles.

According to Above the Line, Fraction's acclaimed 2013 sci-fi romance series, Sex Criminals, and DeConnick's more recent Bitch Planet are both being developed as live-action shows for the streaming service.

Sex Criminals - which is one of the most banned and challenged comics in the U.S. - focuses on a librarian named Suzie and an actor named Jon who meet at a party and end up sleeping together. "Later, they are shocked to discover that they share the ability to freeze time when they orgasm. As their relationship develops and their sexual histories are explored, they decide to rob the bank where Jon works in order to save Suzie's endangered library."

An earlier adaptation of the Eisner award-winning series was in the works at Universal back in 2015, but plans fell through.

Bitch Planet deals with "women who have been imprisoned for being "non-compliant" in an off-planet prison called the Auxiliary Compliance Outpost. The narrative arc moves through time, presenting how the women were arrested in the first place, as well as their various experiences within the prison."

That's pretty much all we have to go on for now, but it sounds like both projects are in the very early stages of development, so it'll probably be a while before we get any solid updates.

What do you guys make of this news? Any fans of either or both of these comics out there? Be sure to drop us a comment down below.
