CONSTANTINE Actor Matt Ryan Reveals He Would Like To See The DC Comics Occultist Meet THE JOKER

Whether you like his performance and characterization or not, Matt Ryan has inhabited the role of John Constantine with a fervor, and fan response has generally been very positive. So much so that when the eponymous NBC show was canceled, the  CW welcomed him into the fold with guest spots on both Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

His time in the role hasn't been limited to just live-action though, as Ryan has also gone on to voice the character in the DC Animated Feature Justice League Dark and has an upcoming animated show on CW Seed. This cross media portrayal has opened up a lot of opportunities to see the Occultist in almost limitless situations and see him interact with many DC characters.

To this point, at Wizard World in Cleveland this weekend, Ryan was asked just who he would like to see Constantine go up against in the future. His answer, the Clown Prince of Crime:

I always wondered how Constantine would be with the Joker. Most of the time when I think of John in a situation with the other heroes, I can kind of picture what would happen. With the Joker, I don't know. I love the way that they wrote his interaction with Batman [in Justice League Dark]. There's not a lot there in terms of dialogue, it's just the one liners like calling him "Batsy" and whatnot. Those little things. In a way, they're kind of similar, John and Batman/Bruce. I really like that dynamic, and what was also great about Justice League Dark was being able to play some of those relationships with characters that we didn't get on the show - even though it's a voice thing. It's great to explore those dynamics. I've just got the Joker in my head now, though.

If this interaction were to ever happen it's more than likely to be in animation as opposed to any of the live-action shows, but could we see The Joker show up on CW Seed's animated show or perhaps another Justice League Dark feature? Only time will tell.

Would you like to see Constantine meet The Joker? What do you think of Matt Ryan's portrayal? Which character would you like to see John Constantine interact with in the future? Leave your thoughts below.

I don't know much about Constantine. I saw the Keanu Reeves version. It would probably be very interesting to see how he reacts to someone like the Joker though. Such insanity and evil and brilliance and chaos all at the same time in, as far as I know, just a man.
