Constantine fans haven't had much to smile about in light of the show's recent ratings struggles, but this may cheer them up. Matt Ryan & DC have teamed-up to produce this fun little clay-mation short, featuring plenty of self-referential humour, and more of Ryan's classic wit.

Yes, you heard that correctly! It seems that DC Entertainment and the creators of NBC's Constantine aren't willing to go out without a fight yet - producing this wonderfully self-aware short, titled: "Jon Con Noir". The video inexplicably blends Matt Ryan's titular character with a mixture of noir and stop-motion animation over a remarkably surreal three minutes.

Featuring nods to both the show's uncertain future, as well as elements from within the series, the short shows Ryan's Constantine on the hunt for two missing executives, who have been kidnapped by 'The Rising Darkness'. Their names? Why, it's showrunners Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer of course! Check out the video below, courtesy of DC Entertainment's very own YouTube channel...

So what did ya think, pretty creative right? Did anyone else enjoy John's classically foul-mouthed reference to the two showrunners? This appears to be just the first part in a web-series, so hopefully there'll be more installments on the way soon. While we're at it, what do you guys think of Constantine's chances for a second season? Sound off with your thoughts below...
