It looks like Ryan Reynolds may have gotten the idea for Once Upon a Deadpool from a fan that Tweeted him the plot of the movie almost a full year ago.

Thinking both scenarios may only have surface similarities and this was most likely just a funny coincidence? Check out the Tweet for yourselves.


Reynolds has been taking credit for pitching the idea for the PG-13 rated version of Deadpool 2 to Fox along with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick during interviews, but it looks like he may have left someone out of the equation!

In all seriousness, there is always a chance this was some kind of crazy coincidence. We'll just have to wait and see how/if the actor responds.

@StarlordsDad - assuming thats even what happened. This isnt enough for it to be unreasonable to assume its a big coincidence and theres a big possibility that theres a lot more to this movie that it just being deadpool 2 censored with a framing device. In fact they've mentioned that so much has changed its basically a different movie.

I'm gonna think outside the box here and posit there's a chance that Ryan Reynolds hasn't necessarily seen every single tweet that gets sent to him. Two different people can have the same idea, and frankly I feel like I have a vague memory that Fred Savage has already done this once before in a different context, sort of recreated TPB set up but as an adult.

Actually, totally aside from this tweet thing, but this PG13 cut is supposed to be showing in China, correct? I could've sworn I heard that. And yet, with the country's (ludicrous) ban on any movies that feature time travel, I sincerely don't know how you recut it so Cable ISN'T coming from the future to kick off the story without making it a totally different film.
