The Merc With a Mouth will return to theaters this Christmas for a family-friendly adventure titled Once Upon a Deadpool, and we have the first teaser trailer for you guys to take a look at right here.

The trailer features shots from some of the new scenes that were filmed with Ryan Reynolds and Wonder Years actor Fred Savage, including an amusing dig at 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies. "It's like if The Beatles were produced by Nickleback... It's music, but it sucks."

"Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006," Reynolds explained in a recent interview. "I've said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said 'Yes' on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining..."

Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think. Will you be heading to the theater to see Once Upon a Deadpool?

I’m loving it. The Fox Nickelback joke was funny

@JohnnyTBP - There's only 15 minutes of new material, which means you've probably seen all the funny jokes in this trailer.

@Battabing - But the trailer wasn't 15 minutes long...

@SmokingMan - Are you expecting a joke a minute?

Are they making this movie PG-13 to see if it can work with the MCU?

@Gandressmex - You mean deadpool as a character?

@Gandressmex - A big factor, is so it can actually get a theatrical release in China now. The first two movies were never released there because China won't release R rated movies into the theaters.

@HelaCipher - Sorry for not elaborating, yes i do mean deadpool as a character.

@Gandressmex - and its just a good idea to turn something that made a ton of money as an R rated movie into something that will make a ton more money as a PG-13 movie. China is a huge selling point though.

@Gandressmex - The PG-13 cut has nothing to do with the MCU.

Yeah, but you're Marvel licensed by Fox. It's like if the Beatles were produced by Nickleback. It's music ... but it sucks.

@Reeds2Much - Once had a neighbor who lived in the apartment below us who would play the exact same Nickleback album everyday incredibly loud and it would shake our floors, in the end we ended up moving so we didn't have to deal with it anymore, best decision ever.

There is a market for this. Not us, but I have a lot of friends/family whose kids have been suffering this whole time because they're obsessed with Deadpool but too young to see an R-rated film. This is a miracle for them and cynicism aside, I'm glad they at least get to see it, I don't expect it to bomb.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - on the same token how many parents actually shielded their kids from Deadpool to begin with? Both movies I went to the premiere night and both times there was an abundance of small children with their parents dressed up in Marvel costumes. I still haven’t watched DP2 again since that night, I felt it ran too long and was getting stale. Really have no intention of seeing it watered down for a China audience this time around either

The teaser was funny I have to admit! No idea if this movie will come out in France but I am curious about it
