Earlier today, 21st Century Fox announced that it has completed the distribution of all issued and outstanding shares in connection with the Disney acquisition. In other words, it's a done deal!

Shortly after the news hit, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds shared the following image of Wade Wilson sitting on a Disney bus sporting Mickey Mouse ears, along with the caption, "Feels like the first day of 'Pool."

Does Reynolds know something we don't, or is he just having some fun? It has already been confirmed that Disney will continue to release movies under the 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight banners - and that includes R-rated content. This has led to speculation that the Deadpool franchise could continue as is, without needing to be fully integrated into The MCU.

We'll have to wait and see how things shake out on that front, but if there's one character that could actually benefit from this acquisition by gaining a wealth of new material, it's the ever-meta Merc With a Mouth.

What do you guys make of Reynolds' Tweet? Could we see more Deadpool movies released under Disney? Is there a chance Wade might even join The MCU? Drop us a comment down below.

1) Love Reynold's tweet, I'd expect nothing less from him!

2) Bob Iger has REPEATEDLY commented on Deadpool and has made it clear that not only will the franchise continue on at Disney, but that it will remain R-rated.

3) It would be pretty easy to integrate Deadpool into the MCU and have his films remain separate but connected. He can even pop up in some of the PG-13 movies and then return to his R-rated films. Any concerns about Deadpool in the MCU not being financially successful with an R-rating are nonexistent, because those R-rated films have made more than a good number of MCU movies!!

There's no reason to expect Deadpool not to be seamlessly integrated into the MCU, and as many of us have been saying, the Deadpool franchise and the characters involved will likely emerge unscathed for the most part from the merger.
