DEADPOOL 3 Star Hugh Jackman Recreates The Exact Moment He Knew He Regretted Retiring As Wolverine

Hugh Jackman made it very clear that he was done playing Wolverine after James Mangold's Logan (the character was even killed off just to hammer the point home), but we've learned that you can never say never when it comes to the movie business, and the Aussie actor is set to suit-up as the fan-favorite X-Man again for Deadpool 3.

Jackman has already explained why he chose to reprise the role, but he's now shared a brief video recalling the exact moment he knew he'd regretted retiring as Wolvie.

"If I'm honest, twenty minutes into the Deadpool movie, all I kept seeing was 48 Hours, the Nick Nolte/Eddie Murphy movie. I was like 'Damnit, damnit. What have I done? What have I done? Nope, you said no. That's it. It's done, ok, I'm done.'"

To be fair, Jackman was true to his word... for a while! Apparently, Ryan Reynolds reached out to him several times over the years to see if he'd be interested in some sort of Wade Wilsonl/Logan team-up, and in the end, Hugh was the one to pick up the phone and tell his friend that he was "in" for Deadpool 3.

Plot details are few and far between, but there are rumors that the TVA from Loki will somehow be involved with bringing the Merc With a Mouth and Logan into the MCU. We assume Wade will stick around, but does this mean Jackman will stay on as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Wolverine going forward?

All will be revealed when Deadpool 3 hits theaters on September 6, 2024.
