Fox Already Plotting A DEADPOOL Sequel; Will We Finally See CABLE On The Big Screen?

Deadpool producer Simon Kinberg praises the early cut of the R-Rated movie and confirms that Fox are already talking about a sequel. Now, the big question in that respect, is whether or not Cable will be making an appearance so hit the jump to find out where things currently stand...

Deadpool may be one of 2016's most highly anticipated comic book movies, but it's also arguably the riskiest. Even if the R-Rated release makes fans happy, there's nothing to say it will be a box office hit, and like Dredd, it could then end up being a one off despite demand for a sequel. Fox are clearly confident in its chances of success though, with producer Simon Kinberg confirming that there's already talk of a follow-up. "I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it’s fantastic. It’s a really good movie. It delivers on the promise of the trailer," he reveals. "We certainly are talking about the sequel...But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we’re all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel."

In the past, Tim Miller has hinted that a Deadpool sequel could introduce Cable, a character the Merc with the Mouth has a lot of history with in the comic books. So, is he going to be making an appearance or not? "It’s certainly come up because he’s such a big character in the world," Kinberg confirms. "And it’s a character that I’ve always wanted to do in one form or another, we talked about Cable actually in Days of Future Past at one point. But yeah we’re in such the early stages of sequel talk it would be genuinely premature for me to say whether or not he was gonna be in it." That's not a definite answer, but things are certainly looking good for Cable and Deadpool's respective futures. We'll hopefully hear something a little more concrete next February.

Give us X-Force rated R!! Blood, Sex and Violence. But again if they did that they would be a success and Marvel will never get Xmen back so it's kinda a double edge sword.

I don't care if this isn't a box-office hit, just make me proud!

I wouldn't put Cable in the sequel but I'm fine with it if they do. I would however start an X-Force franchise with a team of Cable, Domino, Shatterstar, Warpath, Boom Boom, and Deadpool so this incarnation of Deadpool is starring in two franchises.

I don't think it will do great . No kids will see it and that cuts out a lot of their parents too . It may still do alright but it will not be a block buster or anything .

YES!!! Cannot freaking wait for Cable on the big screen. At this point he's the character I want to see most who has not yet appeared in a film. Please, please, please do him justice, FOX!

I don't think Fox expects it to be a blockbuster, but it could surprise. It has an opening date in Feb against Zoolander 2. Ouch.

Rather have a Cable future distopian film first....about his upbringing in the Askani clan and his connection to Apocalypse

I'd love to see Taskmaster in the sequel, him and Deadpool always had a cool relationship. But I don't know who has the rights to Taskmaster in the first place

I don't expect the movie to be a box office blockbuster either but (from what I've seen) it looks good.

Im not a fan of a spinoff and almost a newcomer director introducing Cable.... but at the same time.... Im not sure about Singer introducing Cable. So its complicated.

One thing is for sure, Fox and producers should be really smart with this character and sign the right actor, with A-List potential, if not A-list yet, because Cable can be a big player of the universe moving forward, but..... its all up to the actor and then the scripts if they make him justice.

Fox be giving sequels whether the movie was good or bad. So don't take his praise seriously. They are giving F4 a sequel, so of course they would give one to deadpool

I loved Cable in the Xmen cartoon in the nineties, same with Bishop, who was sadly underused in the DOFP.

Looking foward to seeing him.

I dont know who would be a great choice, with leading potential.

But since Cable could be just the lead of another team, XForce, I wouldnt be mad with any of these choices. All have had action movies, badass roles, and other type of films too, so anyone could be a great adition to the XMen franchise, imo:

Gerald Butler (300)
Aaron Eckhart (The dark knight)
Liam Neeson (maybe too A-list, and maybe a bit old now for a Xforce trilogy...)
Jon Hamm (Mad Men. Id preffer him for Mr Sinister, but would kill Cable too)

Id be fine with any of those.

. "And it’s a character that I’ve always wanted to do in one form or another"

^this has me worried. We all know how this guy loves to sh!t all over the source material.

Confirmed: Cable will be a black teenager with a metal leg.

While I doubt it'll be a blockbuster it will be a success on a reported budget of only $50 million coming out in the dead month of Feburary.
