I posted the same poll in two different articles yesterday, both of which featured Lauren Shuler Donner discussing the chances of Ryan Reynolds still playing the Merc with a Mouth. You see, since the commercial and critical failure of Green Lantern, many in Hollywood seem to be doubting the actors leading man status, despite the fact he was one of the few elements of the DC adaptation that was unanimously liked. I asked you guys whether or not you still want to see him play Deadpool, and the answer was a nearly unanimous YES! While work on the movie has seemingly slowed right down since Tim Miller was announced as director, I for one am still keeping my fingers crossed to see this movie sooner rather than later...

Not me, of course. I think it would be awesome.

@BigC:

You beat me to the "unanimous" correction.

@Captain: I'm as bewildered as you are by this.

Ryan Reynolds: nope.

I can't really imagine who could play deadpool. Cause lets be honest, in order for him to be done right he needs to have the mask on pretty much always. So it shouldn't matter if the actor is good looking or not, just as long as he can pull of a good sarcastic voice..

People need to be open minded here and remember that, forget about looks, focus on the humor in the tone of the voice. I am sure many people can do that, whether they are big stars or not

Replacing him would mean major script changes, in terms of them referencing him in Xmen Origins. As well as removal of the Ryan Reynolds specific references and jokes.

I just hope that they stay with the old script beginning that had him insulting "X-Men Origins: Wolverine".

@TheWolfX: Heck, the reason that he screwed up GL is because he's too much like Deadpool!

lol at the people complaining he cant act, as if this role requires acting. The script as it is calls for Ryan playing Ryan.

If they do it right, then yes..with that said...

Fox really has a pretty bad track record here. For some reason, they dont seem to want to identify with the 'cannon' history or marvel universe in general. First Class was a fun movie, but in comparison with what is going on with the rest of the MU, no comparison. I think Singer's seed has sprouted some nasty fruit, and maybe we should just cut down the tree..
