Ryan Reynolds On DEADPOOL; Says It's A Film He Hopes "Fanboys Could Embrace"
In a recent interview, Ryan Reynolds says that the Deadpool film is made in a way that he hopes Fanboys will embrace. He also speaks about his excitement for the film, even though it does not "have the kind of money that most superhero movies do." Hit the jump to check it out!
In a recent interview with the Shortlist magazine, Ryan Reynolds talks his excitement for the newly announced Deadpool film, while praising the director for having great knowledge about the character (Deadpool), “I'm incredibly happy about it, we've got a director that understands that world, and writers with a lavish devotion to the canon of that character.” He then tells what he thinks the most important aspect of making the film is. ''That's the most important aspect: it's made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that's the hope.''
Later in the interview, he speaks on the delay the film had, and says he’s just glad that the movie is finally being made the right way. “It's been a long time, but it's happened in the right way and that's all that matters.” He then reveals that this film does not have the type of money like most other superhero films (Marvel Studios, DC Entertainment, Etc.), but he thinks that’s one of the best reason they should make the film, ''We don't have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that's great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make.''
He ends off the interview by saying he thinks the main key to making this film a success is having faith in everyone you’re working with, “You gotta have faith in the people you're working with, and have faith in the prep, and that's all I'm doing.” He then continues, "On this one, the prep's been 11 years. You'd like to think you're putting your best foot forward, but we'll see.'' That’s pretty much what this Deadpool film is as of now, a “wait and see.” It’s reported that Deadpool will be PG-13 and feature other mutants such as Collusus and Angel Dust. Are you excited for this film? Sound off below with your thoughts!
Deadpool is set to hit theaters February 12th, 2016
