As you no doubt already know, the reactions from last night's Deadpool fan event were overwhelmingly positive, and ComicBook.com has shared some very interesting quotes from star Ryan Reynolds. Answering fan questions, the actor was asked about reports that they wanted Taskmaster in the movie, and while he didn't get too specific, it definitely sounds like Marvel Studios wouldn't even consider lending him to Fox. "We all wanted him. [The] studio just called us back and said 'cha-ching.'" When fans started shouting out suggestions about the sequel (including utilising Cable), Reynolds responded: "Your lips to God's ears, my friend. Believe me, that's being talked about." Director Tim Miller has previously said that they're aware fans want Cable in the follow-up, so the chances of it being titled Cable and Deadpool are indeed looking pretty good.

Wow! lol It's funny how I knew the next film would be titled "Cable and Deadpool" before all of this. Looks like some time jumping will be done once again.

I can't wait to see this. Hopefully this movie will do well enough to show studios that a Rated R comic movie is worth creating. I would love to see a new actor make his debut in the second Deadpool movie so that we can actually see Wolverine slicing and dicing.

At one point I was hoping Ward would become Task Master on AOS. But I could see them using him in a future Marvel movie especially if Zemo is out there stirring up trouble after Civil War.

Pretty sure Ward as Taskmaster (or Wonder Man, etc.) is out of the question now.

Taskmaster needs to be in a universe with Captain America, Hawkeye, Daredevil and the like... People with moves he can copy, known for their hand-to-hand or skilled weapons fighting. He's kind of meaningless in a Deadpool film separate from all but mutants.

I'm truly happy for all of you Deadpool fans. I know you're a passionate bunch. Tonight, however, is all about the DCEU! Can I get an "amen!"?

@OmegaDaGrodd whilst I'm not saying that I'd cast them, the blueprint for any cable and deadpool movie should be based off the first 2 lethal weapon films and a TV series that fox canceled called almost human. Karl urban interactions with his crazy partner were awesome

Great, Marvel has Taskmaster, they can ruin another villain!

At least marvel don't ruin their heroes like some other studios :)

@newmutantsRETURN

Fox are doing it right? So they blow their load on Apocalypse already without sinister, cable or any of the required backstory and then expect to carry on that franchise without Lawrence, Fassbinder? All that with a new cast that quite frankly is pretty meh!
The fact that they're actively pursuing a new mutants movie and aiming it at thr hunger games crowd (which to be honest is exactly where new mutants should be instead of x force sums up their strategy going forward. Only reason we might get cable is if deadpool does OK because he wouldn't get a look in with singer,schuler-donner and kinberg running the show.

It's a shame that the "good guys" are the ones that suffer, though. People like Bryan Singer couldn't care less about utilizing a comic character as anything more than a plot device, but Miller might. As the Russos said when talking about the Spider-Man deal (as opposed to trying to deal with Fox), there are money people who don't really care about the characters and the awesome potential to make good movies with them.

Let that be a lesson, Fox. Live by the douche, die by the douche.

@newmutantsreturn

I bet you the few movies that made more then a billion dollars(unlike the xmen franchise), show that Marvel doesn't care. Lol

Heh, Marvel burned them. It's a good thing these FOX guys can't get their disgusting claws on Tasky. He'll be way cooler on Agents or Daredevil or wherever they put him. Heck, they could put him on Damage Control and he'd still be better than anything FOX puts him in.

@ALmazing two ways, they either go the Nate grey route (ugh by the way) or they just cut out the middle woamn and ignore madeline pryor altogether. All singer had to was show a pregnant or nursing Jean grey at the end of dofp and hey presto.

Having Cable in the sequel would be awesome but good luck explaining Cable in this X-Men Universe.

What do you mean? Isn't he the child of Mystique and Wolverine from the future? And I'm pretty sure there's probably yet another version of Toad in there somewhere.

They should pick Joe Manganlio(however u spell his name) from True Blood to play Cable.

The man has the looks and height, plus he's young enough to carry a franchise for the next 15 or 20 years(unlike Stephen Lang or Jon Hamm)

I hadn't considered him for the role. You're right, he'd be a great choice!
