Deathstroke made a brief appearance at the end of Justice League in a scene which was clearly meant to tease his role in The Batman when Ben Affleck was still attached to direct. Because that's no longer happening, we have no idea what the future holds in store for the character and while rumours have swirled about a solo movie directed by The Raid's Gareth Evans, that's far from official as of right now.
At Comic-Con, Joe Manganiello was asked about his future as the fan-favourite DC Comics and while it sounds like something might be in the works for Slade Wilson, nothing is set in stone quite yet.
"I say, ‘It’s in the works,’ because it is and there’s nothing further that I can say without speaking out of school," the actor explains below when asked what comes next for him, "because I’m part of a team, I’m a part of a locker room — you don’t talk outside the locker room. But all I can say is, for the hardcore fans, it’s in the works. They want the character to happen, it’s just when he happens."
While he wouldn't offer any specifics on where Deathstroke might show up, Manganiello did say that his priority is getting the character right. "I think everybody is committed to that," he concluded.
