The Disney+ streaming service launches in The US on November 12, but fans in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and "a number of other countries in the region" are going to have to wait until March 31 of next year!
Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement on Thursday during a conference call to discuss quarterly results, and he also revealed that there are more Marvel and Star Wars series in "varying forms of production" beyond the ones we already know about. He also said that Star Wars movies would go "on hiatus" following The Rise of Skywalker, but we pretty much knew that would be the case.
While it's nice to finally have a rollout date for the major European markets, by waiting almost 5 months after launching the service in the US, Canada and the Netherlands, Disney is opening itself up for serious levels of piracy. That "titles may very by territory" disclaimer may also be cause for concern!
