Disney Is Expected To Increase Offer For Fox's Assets After Comcast's Bid - But The Clock Is Ticking
Following the recent news that Comcast had outbid Disney for the majority of 21st Century Fox's assets, we're hearing that The House of Mouse does intend to put forward a counter-offer. Check it out...
We recently brought you the news that that a federal judge had determined that AT&T’s proposed $85.4 billion purchase of Time Warner was legal, which prompted Comcast to charge in with an all-cash offer of $65 billion to acquire much of Fox’s film and television assets.
However, Disney won't be bowing out of the chase just yet!
According to CNBC, The Mouse House is expected to add a cash deal to their current offer of $52 billion in stock (now valued at $55 billion), but there is a time limit. Fox's higher-ups are meeting tommorow to decide what to do next, and if they do go with Comcast's offer, Disney will have five days to counter it.
Obviously, Marvel fans are hoping to see Disney come out on top of this bidding war, but we'll just have to wait and see how it goes down. Be sure to check back tomorrow for an update.
